Let's head inside the cage and check out the action.

HERO 32: Torrez vs Olson

Prelims

Light Heavyweight Division:  Mato Cicak vs Nyyrikki Takaraivo

Takaraivo really let his feet fly in this one. In the first minute, he threw four kicks, all of which found the mark. The highlight was a pair of head kicks thrown in succession. Cicak absorbed the first one, but the second dropped him to the mat like a ragdoll. Result: Takaraivo by 1st round KO (Head Kick)

Welterweight Division: Alexander Mankiev vs Kurttu Pelli

Pelli got the early takedown, but it was Mankiev who fought aggressively once the fight was on the mat. He immediately started looking for submissions off of his back. He tried for a triangle, but when he realized he couldn't finish it, he transitioned to an armbar, which did the trick. Result: Mankiev by 1st round submission (Armbar)

Featherweight Division: Mad Child vs Trulove Sackett

Sackett knocked down Child in the opening seconds of this one and Child rever fully regained his senses. He managed to force a standup, but the punishment continued. Child felt he had no other way to protect himself other than tapping out. Result: Sackett by 1st round submission (Strikes)

Heavyweight Division: Roene Dekker vs Anthony Griffin

Dekker displayed nice takedown defense, stuffing all four of Griffin's attempts to get the fight down. While standing, he was able to pick Griffin apart, first cutting him, then landing a huge uppercut that dropped him. A few followup strikes finished things off. Result: Dekker by 1st round TKO (Strikes)

Lightweight Division: Usko Luttinen vs Barnaba Graniecki

Luttinen's striking was really on tonight. He dominated the first round in the standup. The highlight was a head kick that cut Granieki and had him stumbling around. The second was a carbon copy of the first, only after landing the brutal head kick, Luttinen followed  up with punches that concluded the action for the night. Result: Luttinen by 2nd round TKO (Kick and Punches)

Main Card

Welterweight Division: Dae Jung Pak vs Virgil Morgan

Virgil Morgan dominated all aspects of this fight. He landed more shots in the standup and finished both of his takedown attempts. However, where he really shone was on the ground. He pounded away effectively and impressed all of the judges. Result: Morgan by unanimous decision

Light Heavyweight Division: Robert Kawasaki vs Atte Peltola

Kawasaki got a takedown in the first round, but Peltola won the ground battle, effectively landing his ground and pound. In the second, he cut Kawasaki with a jab, defended well, then threw a huge counter punch that dropped his opponent. Peltola piled on a few more shots to cement the victory. Result: Peltola by 2nd round TKO (Strikes)

Co-Main Event #1

HERO Featherweight Championship: Georgi Todorov vs Tex Morgan

We had a relatively even battle in the standup, but unfortunately for the challenger, MMA is about more than boxing. Todorov took down Morgan at will. On the ground, he avoided submissions nicely and countered with some ground striking that caused damage and controlled the action. In the end, it was an exciting fight, but not a difficult one to score.. Result: Todorov by unanimous decision

Co-Main Event #2

Middleweight Division: Albert Fish vs Jarkko Vaakku

Hall of Fame submission specialist Jarkko Vaakku has struggled as of late and hoped to rebound against Albert Fish. However, Fish was able to keep the fight standing, where he had a huge edge. In 85 seconds, he cut Vaakku and knocked him down twice. After a third time falling to the mat, the ref declared that he had seen enough. Result: Fish by 1st round KO (Punch)

Main Event

HERO Middleweight Championship: Eddie Torrez vs Christian Olson

Torrez threw his punches with bad intentions in this one. His first punch was a straight left that cut Olson. Then, after a leg kick to mix things up, he countered with an appercut that knocked Olson out cold. Only sixteen seconds into this title fight, it was over. Result: Torrez by 1st round KO (Punch)

Post Fight Press Conference

AJ Nex sincerely thanked everyone who fought on this card. Previously, the highest rated event was HERO: Tokyo, and this show shattered that record by a longshot. He congratulated both champions on defending their belts. Albert Fish and Eddie Torrez had a pretty intense staredown after it was confirmed that Fish was next in line for a title shot.

AJ Nex also handed out the night's bonus awards:

KO of the Night: Eddie Torrez

Sub of the Night: Alexander Mankiev

Fight of the Night: Georgi Todorov vs Tex Morgan

You don't need to wait long for more HERO action. We are back again tomorrow with HERO 33: Vihtala vs Sullivan. In a week's time, Wai Main Li battles Dimitri Kasavanov at HERO 34. I hope you enjoyed tonight's action. See you next time.
