Rafael Aranyos started his journey with MMA as BJJ student, who quickly fall in love with MMA. He fought his first fight at age of 18, and continue his amateur run to become 14-4 Amateur Lightweight Champion of Brazil. Promising Lightweight made a decision to drop down to a Featherweight division and start his Pro career. After loosing very close fight, he went back to 155lbs and win 2 of his 3 next bout, wich inlucuded 5 seconds submission victory.
His life wasn't a movie story, of poor underdog going through everything, but it wasn't handed to him as well. He worked hard, to train as much as he could, and still was working to help his family financially. He took a break from MMA, because of tragedy that occured, near to place where they lived. Small viallage, 24 miles away from Rio was completly destroyed by storm. Thunder stroke and almost entire village burned down. Alongside other volunteer he help rebuild village.
After going to 2-2 as a Pro, he moved from Rio to Helsinki, to train at Vicious MMA Academy with other top prospects and current champions in MMA, to improve his game and become better fighter. He left his hometown, family and friends to pursuit his dreams. Rafael believes that only way to become complete fighter is not only train and improve your fighting skills, but you have to be smart to know when use your skills and how to do this.
His BJJ pedigree helps him, as he works as a BJJ coach in local gym, helping kids understand the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He still competes in amateur BJJ events, but he describe it as something he is doing just for fun and what helps introduce Martial Arts, MMA and comabt sports to new generation.
