From on action packed weekend to another, New York’s fastest rising MMA organization, Survival of the Fittest, and in association with our merchandise partners Canadian Fighter Clothing, presents SOTF 11: Alpha Male, an event which will be held live from the Credit Card Center arena in New York on Saturday the 29th of September 2012, and will be headlined by the welterweight bout between Javier Pena and Nathan Summers. Now let’s get our fight per fight preview started:

Billy Bunter v Luis Chalas

We kick things off with the two lightweights who are fighting each others for the third time. 23 year old English remarkable boxer Bill Bunter has two professional wins to his record and those wins came against one man, his opponent for this fight, 23 year old proficient Muay Thai fighter Luis Chalas, who has two career losses, which both came against Bunter. In their first fight at SOTF’s first event, Bunter made quick work out of Chalas, knocking him out early in first round, but their second encounter at SOTF 6 was far more competitive with the English man only getting a close decision win, so will Chalas finally get a win against his old nemesis? Or will Bunter prove to be the better fighter yet again?

Jerome Johnson v Roman Colt

In the welterweight division, it’s the battle between two 18 year old BJJ purple belts. New York’s own Jerome Johnson is yet to be defeated in his professional career, needing only 30 seconds to submit both of his career opponents, and earning the ‘’submission of the night’’ award for his win over James Yap at SOTF 6 when he was making his promotional debut. On the other hand, the Native Square born fighter, Roman Colt, is hoping to be as impressive in his own SOTF debut, and just like opponent, Colt also finished his only career opponent via submission. With the possibility of both men’s grappling abilities ending up canceling each others, it is worth noting that Johnson is the better boxer, while Colt is the superior wrestler.

Max Henderson v Jimmy Sisphar

In the middleweight division, 20 year old BJJ belt Max Henderson is already an SOTF veteran, fighting in the organization for the 4th time, and being the do-or-die fighter that he is, his bouts never made it to the second round, losing to Henry Ballard and Jake Rosholt at SOTF 4 and SOTF 10 respectively, and beating Bob Swarley at SOTF 6. On the opposing corner will be 24 year old wonderful Muay Thai fighter Jimmy Sisphar, who is still trying to find his best form again and end his 5 fights losing streak, and if he can keep the fight on the feet, he should be able to easily dominate his opponent, but if Henderson can take the fight to the ground, then Sisphar will be in a big trouble, since 5 of his 9 defeats came via submissions, which is his opponent’s favorite win method.

Mario Balotelli v Mark Silva

Also in the middleweight division, 18 year old italian well-rounded fighter Mario Balotelli has became the dark horse of the 185 division, defying the odds to win his first two organizational bouts, getting the decisions wins over Duck Sweeney at SOTF 3, and Billy Lightning at SOTF 5. But now he faces a tougher challenge in 21 year old BJJ purple belt Mark Silva who is looking to rebound after dropping a decision against Jake Rosholt at SOTF 6. While Balotelli looks to be the superior striker of the two, Sliva will have the advantage on the ground.

Kazna Futzchag v Diego Nunes

Back to the lightweights. 24 year old well-rounded German fighter Kazna Futzchag will be making his SOTF debut, hoping to write a better chapter in his career after suffering from a five fights losing streak. But despite his recent record, the exiting German fighter always delivers, winning 3 ‘’fight of the night’’ awards in his career, plus one ‘’submission of the night’’ award. On the other hand, his opponent, 27 year old Brazilian respectable wrestler and BJJ purple belt, Diego Nunes, will be looking to rebound after dropping a decision in his promotional debut against Unige Rege. In a fight that looks like it a will be a close one to call, Nunes’ superior ground game could be the deciding factor in this one

Luke Warm v Adam Beaudreaux

In the welterweight division, two BJJ brown belts will collide. 24 year old wonderful wrestler Luke Warm will be making his promotional debut while riding a three fight winning streak, and is looking to establish himself as a big name in the 170 division. On the other hand, 23 year old sensational Cambodian boxer Adam Beaudreaux suffered an upset defeat in his own promotional debut against Vincenzo Calliente at SOTF 8, but is now back and hoping to regain the form that made him undefeated early in his career.

Mike Tyson v Royler Silva

In the light-heavyweight division, two young fighters will be making their respective second SOTF appearances. 18 year old strong wrestler from Brooklyn, Mike Tyson, is back to the cage soon after finishing Glen Benton at SOTF 10, and is now hoping to earn his second promotional win is as many fights, which is the same goal of his opponent, 19 year old Brazilian BJJ blue belt Royler Silva, who earned the ‘’submission of the night’’ award for his win over Forest Griffin at SOTF 7. While Tyson’s boxing will give him the advantage in the striking aspect, Silva will have the ground advantage due to his superior wrestling and grappling.

Javier Pena v Nathan Summers

And now it’s time for our main event folks! It’s the battle between two of New York’s best welterweights. 25 year old sensational boxer and BJJ purple belt Javier Pena will be fighting in the organization for the second time, in his first bout he got a first round TKO win against Hugo Martinez at SOTF 5, but he is taking on a higher level opponent this time, and that man is 27 year old sensational boxer and wrestler and BJJ black belt Nathan Summers, who is looking to rebound after his defeat against Marshall Mathers at SOTF 6 in the organization’s first ever title bout. While Pena is a great boxer who got 8 of his 10 career wins via (T)KOs, Summers is an incredibly well-rounded fighter, possessing many tools that allows him to win fights. Can Summers deliver a stellar performance in this fight that allows him to call out the reigning champion Marshall Mathers for a rematch? Or will Pena provide the big upset and put himself up there in the title hunt? I guess you will have to tune in to find out!
