TWD 36: Xiii vs Doo Man Preview

Event Preview: TWD 36: Xiii vs Doo Man
The Wild Den(150k+)
2012-10-20, Rio de Janeiro, Hard Knocks - Rio
Author:Papa Papito

Papito: Good day folks! It's time for another episode of TWD: Inside the Den. We welcome you to our show with your hosts, the former #1 Bantamweight in Tokyo, Tony Kazarian and yours truly, the most handsome manager in Tycoonverse, the one and only Papa Papito!

Kazarian: Wow man, get a grip!

Papito: All I'm telling you folks is the truth.. Let's get this going!

MAIN CARD:

Carlos Diaz vs Atapang Atao

Kazarian: These guys are sluggers! They love to brawl and they live and die by their stand up game.

Papito: Yeah, especially that Atao guy, you'll never know if he'll hit you with a bone-crushing strike or some sorts. But Diaz is a tough one, never lost via knockout.

Kazarian: You'll notice that both of these guys has virtually no ground game right?

Papito: Yeah, but Atao has a slightly better wrestling skills, do you think he'll make use of it?

Kazarian: I doubt. Diaz has the knockout power whilst Atao has... A glass chin?

Papito: Don't count him out! He's a tough one though... But I'll go with Diaz in this one.

Kazarian: Diaz for sure. By KO.

John "Iron Fists" Dunn vs Pound Ground

Kazarian: Man, I smell another slugfest out here.. Dunn really is has iron fists. He has good boxing skills and some ground and pound to his repertoire.

Papito: It really is another slugfest which fans love. Dunn is a good fighter. He's an up-and-coming fighter looking to go past the obstacle in this one, but Ground is no easy obstacle. He loves to get dirty. He loves to knockout or get knocked out. Do you think Ground can pull it off this time?

Kazarian: Once again, I highly doubt it. Dunn is a tough guy to knockout. Unless Ground hits him with his deadly combination. I'll go with Dunn here via KO.

Papito: I'll also go with Dunn. KO.

"Killer" Willians Obina vs "Speedy" Stevie Gonzales

Papito: The veteran, "Killer" Willians Obina will square-off against the undefeated, "Speedy" Stevie Gonzales! Wow Tony, we're up to a good fight in this one!

Kazarian: Yup, these two guys have been through each other way back before TWD 24. Gonazales was in trouble at first but he somehow found a way to get out of Obina's grappling skills and land a shot that cut Obina open.

Papito: But this time it's different, they have both matured and improved their skills. Obina is now more dangerous on the ground as he submitted the former title contender, Palito Gomez whilst Gonzales became more imposing as he finished Jay Hendo in the first round.

Kazarian: Hey, not to mention, Obina faced-off against my younger brother, Travis Kazarian. My brother should thank me for his wrestling skills.

Papito: Yeah Travis was great, until he lost and retired. Anyway these two have earned the fight of the night honor when they previously met, do you think they could do it again?

Kazarian: Yup, they can. I'll go with the previous winner in this one. Gonzales via KO.

Papito: I'll be going with Obina here. via Submission.

CO-MAIN EVENT

Gim "The Jester" Ruut vs Dois Pra Um

Papito: These two former title contenders will face-off for the first time. Ruut has had a rough start in TWD, earning a record of 1-2 whilst Pra Um is still winless in TWD. Ofcourse both had very tough opponents. TWD boasts their Featherweight division as one of the toughest divisions in Rio de Janeiro.

Kazarian: That's true man. All are talented fighters and it's really hard to decide who will win this one.

Papito: They are almost equally matched but Ruut gains a slight edge due to his brown belt. But Pra Um has a tough grappler. I think he can neutralize Ruut's ground game.

Kazarian: I think so. They can also slug it out if they neutralize each other's ground game. But I highly doubt that will happen. Ruut might force his way out of a submission here.

Papito: I agree but Pra Um has also been a magnificent grappler in the past. It will just be who is the better grappler in this one.

Papito: Wait up, I just received a text message from Gim Ruut. Here it goes:

Gim Ruut: I'm coming to this fight more than ready. I'm looking forward to impress the fans and the media with this fight. I've had tough fights before, but I've learned with them and I've developed my game to adjust my flaws. I'm going to finish Dois Pra Um in this event and start a new path towards the title. I want to face the new guys more after this one, to really make a statement and show I'm the best guy. I'm here to win it all.

Kazarian: Wow, strong message from Ruut. In that case, I'll be rooting for him via Submission.

Papito: Same here. Ruut by Submission.

MAIN EVENT

"Tetra Master" Wedge Xiii vs Park Doo Man

Papito: The Hall of Famer, currently the most dominant champion in TWD, The Tetra Master, Wedge Xiii will be defending the Featherweight championship against the head-kicker of TWD's featherweight division, Park Doo Man!

Kazarian: We've got a tough contender here for Xiii! We all know that Xiii is a great wrestler and he won all his fight by knockout, but what if he can't take his opponent down and be forced to use his stand up skills?

Papito: That's the huge question towards this fight. Doo Man is a very dangerous stand up fighter. He lost one fight to Clay Davis via submission, but he worked his way back and knocked opponents here and there. Xiii is still undefeated and he's looking to dominate this one by taking this to the ground.

Kazarian: Doo Man has a vulnerability on his grappling skills but his striking skills are good. If he can prevent this from going down to the mat. He might be the new Featherweight champion. What do you think Paps?

Papito: Well I'll still go with the champion here. As usual, via KO/TKO.

Kazarian: I beg to differ, I'll go with Doo Man in case he manages to prevent those gorilla-like slams. Doo Man via KO.

Papito: So that's it folks. That's the end of this week's edition of TWD: Inside the Den.

Kazarian: Don't forget to join our private gym! We still have 15 slots left and check out our gambling den! It's your chance to vote for your favourite fighters!
