PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jukko Tupola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Micky Elder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Elder has chosen Metallica - Enter Sandman as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tupola lands a nice shot to the body.

Elder really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tupola. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Elder can do anything to dispel that myth.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Tupola connects with a nice short shot to Elder's temple.

Tupola stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Elder swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Elder manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tupola manages to get himself to full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tupola is on top in guard.

Tupola has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Elder is looking to stand up but Tupola isn't so interested in that idea.

Elder is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Tupola dives into side control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Elder tries to buck Tupola off but Tupola is having none of it.
Elder is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Tupola has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Elder takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Elder pushes Tupola away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Tupola gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Tupola remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Elder manages to work his way to half guard, despite Tupola's best efforts.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Elder lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Tupola can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Elder and Tupola drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Elder.
