Another sold out event and a huge success put on by Mr. Monk and Honor Fighting Championship. We were at The Palmtree for this big clash and as I said before it was a sell out and I am sure Meet the Future had a big night as well. I know In The Red Sportsbook had big business from other events and some of you may not have been able to get bets. Well I was told that there may soon be more bookies offering odds on Honor Fighting Championship events in the near future. Let’s take a look at this event and exactly what made it great.

Preliminary Bout Number 1- Middleweight Fight (185lbs)

Dalton "Black Killer" Ismith defeats Anderson "Shogun" Christopher

Wow is all I can say. Ismith was super aggressive and that is what won him this fight. I really thought Christopher was going to dominate this match up, but I guess when you’re wrong you are really wrong. Christopher attempted only one strike and one takedown during the fight which spilled in to the second round. Ismith was pulling into the clinch and doing some damage and then backing out. He did pull guard once and Christopher landed a few strikes and tried for a submission but Ismith was able to defend it. Ismith got the win at :43 of the second round by TKO knees, as he was overwhelming Christopher in the clinch.

Preliminary Bout Number 2- Middleweight Fight (185lbs)

Josh "The Chris Bosh" Laston defeats John "Drav" Dravinski

I figured Josh would not want to go to the ground with Dravinski but once again I was wrong. Josh came out looking to take this fight to the ground successfully taking this fight to the ground early in the round. Laston from the top position was able to lock in a guillotine after landing some clean shots. The guillotine won Laston this fight at 1:58 of the first round.

Preliminary Bout Number 3- Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

Freddy Lee defeats Dave "D" Davisdon

Well if you recall I had Lee winning this fight in the first round by submission. I had no idea it would come so quickly. The entire fight stats read as follows Lee takedown attempts one for one, submissions one for one. Lee was able to get the takedown right off the bat and from half guard he locked in a kimura to get the win in just eighteen seconds.

Preliminary Bout Number 4- Middleweight Fight (185lbs)

Donovan "Ronin" Robertson defeats Dario "The Killer" Silva

I was really hoping for a Silva win because I wanted to see these guys fight three four maybe even five times. It is awesome to see a feud that doesn’t end up one sided. I did not get my wish as Robertson defeated Silva more convincingly than he did the first time. Their first fight went to the third round, and in this one Robertson was not going to let the fight get that close again. Silva certainly tried to turn this into a kickboxing fight, but on Robertson’s second takedown attempt he was able to pull Silva to the mat. He tried a few submissions before locking in a kimura from side control. Silva was forced to tap out at 1:55 of the first round. Robertson is trying to get a rematch with Wade West and he will get it with impressive victories like this one.

Preliminary Bout Number 5- Featherweight Fight (145lbs)

Dewayne Bryant defeats Bruce Shashia

I can’t say much about Shashia’s stand up other than he has some big accuracy and power issues he will need to work on in training. His defense was amazing stuffing five of the nine takedown attempts and defending a few submissions. The big hole in his ground game though was stopping Bryant from advancing positions as Bryant got mount twice with no problems. Shashia did not get finished from bottom mount either time defending very well from the bottom. Bryant did lock in an arm triangle at 3:58 of the third round and Shashia was forced to submit. If Bruce would have held on for the last minute and two seconds he still would have lost thirty to twenty seven in my book.

Main Card Bout Number 1- Featherweight Fight (135lbs)

"The Magician" Ari Birmiski defeats Ted "Diet" Coke

Score another for me as I completely called this fight. My prediction was Birmiski would win a very close decision and the fight did in fact go to the judges’ score cards. All of the judges scored the first round for Coke even though the two were tired at two in takedowns and I thought Ari was the more aggressive ground fighter. Coke was able to bring the fight back to the standup position all four times in the first round and I am sure that is what won him the round. This round was won by the majority of the judges by Ari ten to nine but one judge scored it ten to ten. I honestly felt that this was the second round in a row that Ari won but maybe that’s why I am a writer and not a judge. Ari did score two takedowns to Coke’s one and once again he was more aggressive on the ground. Coke was able to get to the standup position again after every takedown. Coke looked great on the ground but in both rounds Ari was looking to finish while Coke was not. The third round Ari decided he wanted to stand a little bit and moved into the clinch were he controlled the fight while doing some damage. He scored a takedown in the middle of the round and Coke was not able to get the fight back up. Ari worked a few submissions but once again Coke was able to defend. With less than a minute to go in the fight Coke worked for a submission of his own but he was not successful. The judges scored the fight 29-28, 29-28, 29-29 for Ari to win by majorty decision, but I had this fight scored 30-27 for Brimiski.

Main Card Bout Number 2- Lightweight Title Fight (155lbs)

Julius Caesar defeats Bolius "One round fighter" Kalaboka

Kalaboka missed with everything to start this fight except a big punch that opened up Caesar’s face. From there it was all Julius as he was able to lock up a nice clinch and then started working the dirty boxing. He was able to overwhelm Kalaboka with punches from the clinch. He was able to push Kalaboka against the fence and then he unloaded a big right hook and that cause the referee’s stoppage at 1:24 of the first round giving Caesar the win by TKO. Caesar hangs on to the Lightweight Title at least for now.

Main Card Bout Number 3- Welterweight Fight (170lbs)

"Veliki" Ljuti Hrcak defeats "GroundnPound" Kevin Coonaments

For once Coonaments did not mess up my predictions. After this loss his record drops to one and four, and I think I have picked him to win three times none of which where is only win in the HFC. Hrcak took this fight over right from the start. Coonaments failed to connect on a punch and Hrcak took him straight to the ground. Once on the ground Hrcak pounded away until the referee finally stopped the fight at 4:56 of the first round. During the assault Hrcak did try one submission that was defended with ease. It is surprising that Hrcak even attempted it with how vicious his ground and pound was, Hrcak landed twenty eight ground strikes in the one round that this fight lasted.

Co Main Event Main Card Bout Number 4- Welterweight Fight (170lbs)

Oberyn "Steel" Martell defeats Taylor "woob woob woob" Clark

I had to get another one wrong before the night was over, but I was correct in the fact that I thought the fight was going to decision. Surprisingly enough this ended with a second majority decision on the card. The first round I gave to Martell since he had the two takedowns and was much more aggressive. He was able to land a little bit and he event took the fight to the clinch. Clark was able to get the fight back to the feet but it wasn’t enough in my book or any of the judges book to win the round. Another round down and another round won by Martell. Once again he was more aggressive taking the fight into the clinch and scored a takedown. I gave the round to Martell and two of the judges did one of which scored the round a draw at ten to ten. Round three we got to see two more takedowns by Martell that didn’t lead to much. I scored the round for Martell as nobody was damaged and the point grappling lead Martell to the win the round, two judges agree one scores the round for Clark. The final judges’ cards read 30-27 Martell, 30-27, Martell, and 29-29 draw and someone should have their ability to judge fights taken away.

Main Event Main Card Bout Number 5- Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

"Wittertainment" Mayo Kermode defeats James "Java Man" Avalon

I knew Kermode was going to win this fight, it would have been my locked pick bet win but I never would have imagined Avalon being able to take this fight to decision. I picked Mayo to win this fight in the first round by knockout but Avalon took some of Kermode’s best shots and he just kept coming back for more. The judging was strange in this fight which has been the theme of the night but at least this one was correct with a unanimous decision for Kermode. Personally I thought he dominated rounds one and three with him winning a close second round. I scored the fight 30-27 and so did one other judge. One of the judges scored the second round a draw giving it a ten to ten round and ending his score card with a 30-28 victory for Kermode. The final judge scored the second round in favor of Avalon, which should show you just how close that round was. His final score card read 29-28 giving us three different scores but all for the same winner Mayo Kermode!

Great round of fights with some awkward judges. I hope we get much better draws of judges from here on out because that was just plain bad at some points. Regardless I went seven and three on predictions and that pretty damn good, of course it would come on the day we did not have an available bookie but these things happen. Anyways join me later for the preview to Wednesday Warfare VII.
