BFT - 140 Review

Middleweight - "Twin Fists of Fury" Mark Johnson submitted Maxim "MoneyMaker" Reality at 4:49 in round 1.

The fight opened up and Johnson did not wait long to bring this fight to the ground. The rest of it unfolded there. Johnson had tried several thing there; advancing, striking, and submissions. None of which seemed to bring Reality down. Until, that is, Johnsons slaps on an extremely tight armbar that forces Reality to tap. That armbar was tight.

Light Heavyweight - The Fight between Nathaniel "The Natural" Forrester and John "Jack" Kennedy ruled a No Contest.

This was an unfortunate match-up. Nathaniel Forrester weighted in at 210.3 and was not allowed to fight. Quite a shame. This hasn't happened in a while and it sucks when it happens.

Lightweight - Carlos Silva technically knocks out Frank Slagman with a cut at 4:55 in round 1.

Silva got the takedown and took control for the fight. He destroyed Slagman with the ground and pound. He landed 94% of his strikes on the ground and just ripped up Silva face. If the fight wasn't stopped because of cuts, it would have been stopped soon for a knockout. Nice ground and pound from Silva.

Co-Main - Welterweight - Chumba Wumba Unanimous Decisions "Nom" Nom Nomm.

This was exactly what Chumba Wumba wanted. He took things into the clinch and on the mat. The first round saw a lot of clinchwork with 3 successful gaurds pulled. The second round looked similar to the first. But towards the end of the round, Nom was able to make a stand. He kept apart from Wumba and was able to land a few good shots in there. He was even able to cut him open. It wasn't enough for him to steal the round, but it was a nice confidence booster. The final round toook almost entirely in the clince, and Wumba felt fairly comfortable in there. He held on and cruised his way to a decision. A controlling fight on display from Chumba Wumba.

Main Event - Lightweight - "Kana" Kuroda Atsushi submitted Suchart "Fishbowl" Chaowanungkarn at 4:18 in round 3.

The first round saw Atsushi try very hard to take things to the ground. "Fishbowl" was ready to keep this standing. At the distance, "Fishbowl" was picking "Kana" apart. Hell, the clinch didn't look much better for Kuroda. He got the takedown, but Suchart got things back up quickly. "Kana" got another takedown, but "Fishbowl was able to reverse it! Some ground and pound ended the round. The second round saw a back and forth battle between the ground and the distance. The ground won out that fight, and as such Atsushi was able to do much more damage. That's not to say that "Fishbowl" wasn't able to land some great strikes. But Atsushi was able to do a lot with that one. The final stanza saw an early successful takedown from Mr. Kuroda Atsushi. And  this time, he was not letting go of this opportunity. He was even able to achieve mount on top. From there he let the fists fly until the ref jumped in to save "Fishbowl". A great fight to cap off the night.
