The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fire fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bamboni, pushing him back against the cage. Bamboni misses with an elbow over the top. Nice elbow from Bamboni. Bamboni pushes off an throws an elbow but Fire leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Fire misses with a hook from the clinch. Fire is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Fire throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Bamboni blocks it with crossed arms. Now he's in guard on top. Fire preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Jake Fire has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stanley misses with a few strikes there.
Stanley looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Stanley throws a hook to the side of Fantana's head but Fantana sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Stanley looks to throw the jab but Fantana is out of range. Fantana lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Fantana misses with an uppercut. Stanley saw that one coming. A looping hook to the body misses from Fantana. Stanley does a little dance to reset his feet. Stanley misses the body punch and Fantana counters with a shoot takedown. Stanley fights it but they end up in guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stanley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fantana manages to get himself to full guard.
Stanley wants to control from the top but Fantana keeps moving. Stanley has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Stanley landing some decent shots from guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Fantana is on top in guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Fantana avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Stanley working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Fantana looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Fantana manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Stanley manages to get himself to full guard.

Fantana wants to pass the guard but Stanley is keeping the position. Fantana won't allow Stanley to sweep him here. Stanley throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Fantana escapes and throws Stanley's legs to the side, diving into side control! Stanley gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Stanley tries to get to full guard but Fantana has control of the leg.

Stanley tries to get back to half guard but can't. Fantana takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Fantana lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Stanley working to try and regain half guard.

A nice inside leg kick there by Laak. That's going to slow Miller down. Miller takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

"I'm sorry" says Laak. Miller manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Miller has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Laak with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Couture is working to tighten is grip on Zarate's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Zarate has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Couture is really squeezing tight and eventually Zarate passes out! Couture breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
