Lester has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Doucet to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Lester is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Doucet pulls down on the head and he's put Lester to sleep! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flutie's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Flutie duly obliges.

KONG looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Flutie!
KONG looking to finish with strikes here!

KONG working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Flutie tries to hold on but KONG postures up.
KONG throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Flutie trying desperately to get to his feet.
KONG fails to move to back control.
Flutie really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
KONG has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

KONG has control of Flutie's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Flutie regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Flutie prevents KONG from taking his back.
Flutie tries to lock up and control but KONG gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
KONG is trying to take his opponent's back.

KONG goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Flutie turns into him and now he's in KONG's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
KONG looking to hit a scissor sweep but Flutie is one step ahead there.
KONG keeping moving, preventing Flutie from controlling successfully.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
KONG has a closed guard, preventing Flutie from standing up.

Flutie stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Flutie clinches up against the cage.
KONG drops down looking for an ankle pick but Flutie pulls his leg out and moves away.
KONG shoots in for a takedown but Flutie shows good takedown defense.

Flutie fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Flutie moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Flutie stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for KING KONG. That's going to take a lot out of him.
KONG uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Flutie.
KONG shoots in and drives through. Flutie sprawls well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

KONG avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Flutie throws a nice looking combination but KONG bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Flutie lands a jab to KONG's midsection.
KONG looks for a takedown but Flutie sprawls well.
KONG throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Flutie's waist but Flutie gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing KONG off to one side.
Flutie throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Flutie keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Flutie tries to bum rush KONG with a series of wild strikes but KONG uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

KONG shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Flutie is pressing down on KONG's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
KONG stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Flutie swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Flutie wants to get back to his feet but KONG is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dougie Flutie dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


A big right followed by a crushing left from Flutie knocks KONG out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
