The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watson tries to bum rush Makounochi with a series of wild strikes but Makounochi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Watson clinches.

Makounochi breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Makounochi misses with the combination.

Makounochi throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Watson counters with a two punch combo.

Makounochi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Watson connects with a nice cross there... Makounochi is looking wobbly and Watson recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Makounochi to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Watson jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

Masterson misses with a takedown attempt - Dempsey sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Dundee is trying to trip Bubba. He has hold of a leg but Bubba is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Dundee persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bubba manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Bubba postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Dundee looks a forlorn figure.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dundee can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Bubba is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Bubba gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Bubba gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Bubba apologises and we restart here on the feet.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Chris Bubba.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bubba, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Tianjengo had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Valkohammas is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Tianjengo Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Valkohammas's back instead.
