The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Conger pushing out the jab but it's not landing. jackson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Conger lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. jackson keeps the fight on the outside. jackson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Conger doesn't manage to clinch there - jackson circles away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Conger keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. jackson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Horrible takedown by Conger or perhaps it was just good defense by jackson which made him look bad. jackson shoots and misses and Conger counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. A head kick by Conger misses and jackson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Conger's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Conger duly obliges. Conger wants to clinch but jackson slips to the side and Conger takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. jackson fails with the takedown and Conger counters with a nice double leg into half guard. jackson is breathing heavily.

He lands a short punch in the meantime. jackson is staying active underneath Conger, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Conger tries to pass the half guard into mount. jackson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. jackson tries to roll over but Conger keeps him under control. jackson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Conger is working away from the top position though. jackson wants to improve his position but Conger is controlling well.

He's now on top, in his opponent's guard. Conger trying to control but jackson is working from the bottom. jackson looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Conger has picked jackson up and slammed him! jackson can't keep hold of the triangle and Conger manages to pass to side control! You can see the frustration on jackson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Conger stands up.

Conger throws a lazy head kick and jackson counters with a stiff right hand. Conger shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with jackson but jackson pushes him off and we're back to square one. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Conger doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Conger manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Conger postures up.
