Horrible takedown by Kuristus or perhaps it was just good defense by Rudd which made him look bad.
Kuristus looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Rudd throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Rudd drops Kuristus with a left and a right! Oh, Kuristus is hurt - Rudd dives into side control looking to finish!

Kuristus is rocked!
Kuristus is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Oh Kuristus is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rudd tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Rudd stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Rudd is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Kuristus hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!

Haukka moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Mahojakotyc moves out of range of the body kick from Haukka.
A head kick misses from Mahojakotyc.
Haukka feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Mahojakotyc sprawling to the canvas! Mahojakotyc rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Haukka finish him?!

Haukka moves in looking to clinch but Mahojakotyc pushes him off.

Haukka shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Mahojakotyc takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Haukka sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Mahojakotyc bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matti Matikainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Matti Matikainen had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 171.2lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. On his way into the cage it seems that Matti Matikainen has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Matti Matikainen seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Power tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Matikainen swivels and escapes.

Power closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Matikainen prevents Power from improving position.
Matikainen tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Power wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Matikainen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Power on the ground.

Power tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Power has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Power throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Matikainen's waist but Matikainen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Power off to one side.

Power shoots for a double leg takedown but Matikainen sprawls well. He's pushed Power's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Raato wants to clinch.
Payne looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Raato postures up and lands a big shot to Payne's brow.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Raato accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Raato stands up and waves to Payne to follow him.
Raato shoots in looking for a takedown. Payne tries to sprawl out of it but Raato keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Payne manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Raato closes the distance but Payne moves to the side
and Payne counters with a nice leg kick.
Payne swats away the attempt to clinch by Raato.

The fight stays on the outside here - Raato looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Raato decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Raato changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Payne tries to avoid it but Raato manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Payne to the ground. Payne escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Payne darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Payne lands with a punch from half guard.
Raato makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Raato.

Raato kicks Payne off and gets to his feet.
Raato wants to clinch up but Payne keeps it at a distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Urkki Raato dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Raato bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Raato lands a decent elbow from side control.

Raato has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Payne!
Raato fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Raato takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Payne defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Raato.

Urkki Raato overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Raato tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Raato's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
