Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gegard Mousasi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lars Fredrickson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mousasi might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Eminem - 'Till I Collapse. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mousasi tries to close the distance and clinch but Fredrickson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Fredrickson moves into the clinch successfully.
Mousasi wants to get back to striking at distance but Fredrickson won't allow it.
Fredrickson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mousasi staying out of range there. Nice sprawl there from Fredrickson as Mousasi shoots in. An inside leg kick lands from Fredrickson. Mousasi closes the distance looking to clinch and Fredrickson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Gegard Mousasi has been cut. Mousasi takes a jab right on the kisser.
Mousasi shoots and misses and Fredrickson counters with a straight right hand. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mousasi wants to clinch and Fredrickson moves into the clinch. Fredrickson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Mousasi doesn't succeed with the takedown and Fredrickson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Fredrickson. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gegard Mousasi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mousasi is breathing heavily. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Fredrickson's corner. There ya go! There ya go! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fredrickson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Fredrickson with a nice head shot there.

Fredrickson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Mousasi keeping moving, preventing Fredrickson from controlling successfully. Fredrickson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mousasi's guard. Fredrickson looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Fredrickson working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fredrickson works his way into full mount! Fredrickson pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Mousasi manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Myers can do anything to dispel that myth. Schiknsi is looking for a kimura but Myers is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Schiknsi to get the leverage. Schiknsi prevents Myers from standing back up.

Chris Graf seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wilson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Graf looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Wilson tries for a kimura but Graf is defending well. Wilson is trying to land an Americana. You can see the frustration on Wilson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wilson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ruska pinned against the cage. Ruska gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Ruska darts in and clinches Wilson up against the cage. Ruska lands a damaging elbow. Ruska lands with a short shot to the head. Ruska stops a takedown attempt from Wilson.

Ruska unloads a knee to the mid-section. Wilson lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Ruska crunches a lovely knee into Wilson's ribcage. Ruska's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Wilson walks into a stiff left hand from Ruska. Ruska scores with a hook. Ruska lands with a big left! Wilson is wobbled badly! Ruska comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Wilson to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Davis fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Voutilainen looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Davis misses with a head kick.
Davis comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Davis fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Voutilainen blocks a head kick by Davis.
A jab-cross combination lands for Voutilainen and sends Davis crashing to the mat! Voutilainen follows him down to the mat - Davis regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

It looks like Terrell Davis has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Voutilainen stalling.
