1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brock Lesner! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Jorge Garcia and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lesner misses with a body shot.
Brock Lesner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lesner looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Lesner takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Lesner keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. This has been an exciting period of action! guy lands a with a good body shot. guy shoots in and bounces Lesner off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard. guy tries to free his leg and advance position but Lesner is retaining full guard. guy postures up.

Lesner is working an open guard so guy takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. guy closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lesner to the mat! Lesner manages to get full guard. guy wants to control from the top but Lesner keeps moving. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. guy working the ground and pound. guy stands up and we're back to a striking position. guy closes the distance and clinches up with Lesner, looking for a takedown. guy pushes Lesner against the ropes but Lesner circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. guy shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Lesner working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. guy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. guy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Lesner tries to land a sweep but no joy. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lesner is trying to hold guy in close to prevent damage but guy has managed to pass into half guard.

guy shoots in but Lesner avoids the takedown attempt easily. guy lands a head kick. Lesner smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
It looks like Brock Lesner has been cut. Nice body punch from guy. guy fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Lesner. guy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lesner is fending him off so far but guy persists. Nope, Lesner circles away and we're back to standing. guy fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. guy shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than guy was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Lesner is wriggling around trying to escape.

Lesner is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. guy has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Lesner's face.

Lesner manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Lesner gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and guy counters with a single leg into guard. Lesner didn't expect that. big guy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brock Lesner. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! guy won't allow Lesner to sweep him here. Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Is there anything that Lesner can do to turn this around? Lesner has momentary wrist control but guy slips an elbow through the middle.
