Excellent takedown into side control there by Epstein. mac tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Epstein wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Epstein creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Epstein lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear mac down.

Makayata shoots in for a takedown and gets it. McNeil is holding on to half guard well. McNeil pushes Makayata off looking to stand but Makayata dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are battling for position here. McNeil manages to regain full guard. Nice work. McNeil seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Makayata drops back, looking for a kneebar! McNeil looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. McNeil looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from McNeil! McNeil postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
McNeil has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. McNeil lands an elbow. Makayata is looking for a sweep. Makayata regains half guard.

Resnar is looking to land body kicks. DeSouza lands a nice looking body kick. DeSouza looks to land a combination but Resnar avoids it well. Resnar takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. A lazy body kick from Resnar and DeSouza counters with a thumping low kick. Resnar wants to clinch and DeSouza counters with a left and a right that stings Resnar.

Resnar throws a looping overhand right but DeSouza ducks down to avoid it. Resnar throws a combination that misses letting DeSouza counter with a right hand. DeSouza lands an overhand right. A slapping body kick lands there for DeSouza. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
DeSouza closes the distance and clinches. DeSouza lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Resnar blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

John Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sirovica chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Smith can pounce on him.

Cabrera closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Holliday to the mat! Holliday manages to get full guard.
Holliday is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Cabrera wants to stand but Holliday is controlling his posture from full guard. Cabrera might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Cabrera stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Holliday swivels though and keeps the full guard. Cabrera throwing strikes from guard but Holliday blocks nicely. Holliday is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Holliday working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cabrera doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cabrera manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Cabrera stands up from guard. Let's bang! Holliday takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Holliday escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cabrera gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Holliday wants to stand but Cabrera is controlling the position. Holliday looks gassed! Cabrera is looking to work some ground and pound but Holliday has wrist control.
Holliday has an active guard here but Cabrera has managed to pass into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Cabrera lands a nice short elbow. Holliday is looking to get back to full guard here but Cabrera has managed to pass to side control instead. Cabrera with shots to the head and body - Holliday looks very uncomfortable down there. Holliday is in all sorts of trouble here.

Cabrera has control of Holliday's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Holliday regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Cabrera is in the full mount, landing strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Holliday wants to control but Cabrera is having none of it. Cabrera content just to control the position here. Cabrera pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Holliday is in a horrible position here. Cabrera smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Holliday is still in real trouble! Can Cabrera finish him?
