Hawkins kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Sixto sounds & Zircon - Lunatic Moon. Diamond is trying hard to land a takedown here. Siilasvuo sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Siilasvuo lands a lovely overhand right.

It looks like Rick Diamond has been cut.
Siilasvuo throws a lazy right hand but Diamond sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Diamond instigates a clinch.
Diamond goes for a takedown in the clinch but Siilasvuo prevents it.
Siilasvuo wants to get back to striking at distance but Diamond won't allow it.
Siilasvuo lands an uppercut.
Siilasvuo lands with a light punch inside.
Siilasvuo presses Diamond against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Siilasvuo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Diamond shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Diamond was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Diamond is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Siilasvuo is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Siilasvuo flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Diamond anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Siilasvuo and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Diamond slips an arm under Siilasvuo chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Diamond has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Diamond is squeezing on Siilasvuo like an anaconda would it's prey. Siilasvuo fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

I think Anderson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Nancy Sings - Jandek. Connor is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Dropkick Murphys-Rocky Road To Dublin. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Anderson wants to clinch up but Connor keeps it at a distance.
Anderson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Connor thumps Anderson with a low kick.
Connor comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Connor fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Anderson, pushing him back against the cage.

Connor escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Reefer avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Hach closes the distance but Reefer moves to the side

and Reefer decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hach's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hach not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Reefer cracks Hach with a solid left hand.

Hach is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Reefer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hach works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Reefer had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Hach is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Reefer Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Hach's back instead.

You can see the frustration on Hach's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Reefer feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
