The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ricketts stuffs the takedown.
Brannon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ricketts swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Ricketts dodges the punch combination from Brannon.

Brannon fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ricketts , pushing him back against the cage.
Brannon can't get the takedown.
Nice body punch from Brannon - that landed with a thud.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Brannon takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Ricketts decides to pull guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Brannon throws a right hand that Ricketts ducks under and follows up with a left that Ricketts also avoids with ease.

McLovin shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Zu napping and manages to drive through into side control!
McLovin tries to advance to mount but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zu tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but McLovin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

McLovin decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.
Zu dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on McLovin. That did some damage!
McLovin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
McLovin moves out of range as Zu throws a body kick.

Zu lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Zu swings and misses with a hook to the body.
McLovin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Zu throws a nice outside leg kick.
McLovin is looking to clinch but Zu is avoiding it.
McLovin lands a jab to the head.

Zu throws a sloppy head kick and McLovin moves out of range easily.
McLovin lands with a hook. Zu tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Zu throws a head kick that misses.
Zu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

McLovin shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Zu is trying to defend but McLovin finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

McLovin postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Zu to stand up.

McLovin misses with the combination.
McLovin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

McLovin has managed to clinch.

Zu plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
McLovin avoids a kick to the body.

McLovin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Zu's guard.

McLovin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Zu swivels though and keeps the full guard.

McLovin won't allow Zu to get back to his feet.
Zhang Zu is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Zu can't keep his opponent in guard - McLovin advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
McLovin keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

McLovin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Zu manages to avoid it.

RJ McLovin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.

The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Donald Grub and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chonin on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Polliver. Polliver obviously looking to wear him down.
Chonin avoids a punch combination nicely.

Chonin fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Polliver sprawls well initially but Chonin persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Chonin is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Polliver sees it coming and defends easily.
Chonin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Polliver's head.
Chonin prevents Polliver from improving his position.
Polliver gets full guard.
Polliver has Chonin pulled in close to control his posture.

Polliver escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chonin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Chonin tries to free his leg and advance position but Polliver is retaining full guard.
Polliver is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Chonin with a flurry of punches that miss.

Chonin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Chonin throws and elbow that misses. Polliver uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Chonin's guard. Nice move by Polliver!

Chonin throws his legs up looking for a submission but Polliver uses it to pass to side control.
Polliver is working Chonin over with some ground and pound from side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Polliver lands a decent elbow from side control.

Chonin tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Polliver wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Polliver is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chonin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Polliver seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Chonin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Polliver wants to control but Chonin is keeping him busy.
Chonin is looking for a sweep. Polliver is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Polliver wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chonin keeps working.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Polliver cracks the inside of Chonin's front leg.
Polliver lands a nice looking kick to the body. Chonin takes a step back to recover.
Polliver paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Polliver lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Chonin is rocked!

Polliver shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Chonin manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Oh Chonin is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Polliver has hold of Chonin's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Chonin seems comfortable defending it but Polliver has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Chonin is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Chonin is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Polliver couldn't care less - he's delighted!
