You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Gracie bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rickett's guard. Gracie throws a big right hand that misses. Rickett has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Gracie off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Rickett with a lazy takedown attempt and Gracie counters with a right hand that sends Rickett tumbling to the canvas! Can Gracie finish him? He dives into Rickett's guard looking to do just that!
Rickett is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Gracie postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Rickett is still in real trouble! Can Gracie finish him? Gracie scoring with some ground and pound. Gracie lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Gracie is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
