1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Travoltavich! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendes gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Travoltavich moves into the clinch. Mendes goes for a takedown in the clinch but Travoltavich prevents it.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matheus Mendes. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice elbow from Travoltavich. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Travoltavich creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Travoltavich lands an elbow just above Mendes 's eye. A short uppercut from Travoltavich. Travoltavich lands a nice elbow. Travoltavich misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Mendes.

It looks like Matheus Mendes has been cut. Travoltavich pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Mendes misses with a right hand and Travoltavich counters with a big head kick but Mendes shrugs it off.
Mendes is rocked! Travoltavich tries to clinch up but Mendes circles away and keeps his distance. Mendes misses with a double jab
and Travoltavich counters with a lovely shot to the body. Travoltavich uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. A low kick from Mendes is predictable there and Mendes takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Oh Mendes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendes swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Travoltavich counters by moving into the clinch. Mendes seems to have got his legs back now. Mendes takes an elbow to the temple. Travoltavich makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. A short left from Travoltavich. Travoltavich creates some distance and fires off a vicious elbow that drops Mendes! He pounces and finishes the fight with more strikes! Nice KO for Travoltavich.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wikowski lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Alves closes the distance and clinches up with Wikowski, looking for a takedown. Alves pushes Wikowski against the cage but Wikowski circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Alves falls off balance throwing a combination
and Wikowski counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Wikowski really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Wikowski lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Alves misses with a jab, cross combination.
Alves throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Alves tries for a takedown but Wikowski sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Wikowski's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Wikowski duly obliges. Alves looks gassed! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Wikowski connects with a leg kick. Alves looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Wikowski Rushes Alves and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Alves is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Wikowski Piles on the pressure and Alves crumples to the floor! This one is all over!

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Medium John seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Crunch! Luxury Yacht slams his shin into John's torso. That's going to take a lot out of Medium John. Luxury Yacht lands with a kick to the temple. John shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Luxury Yacht looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Luxury Yacht lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Luxury Yacht with a body punch. A glancing blow. Nice straight punches there by Luxury Yacht. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Luxury Yacht. John swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Luxury Yacht counters with a nice leg kick. John moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. John walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. John tries to clinch letting Luxury Yacht counter with a right hand. Raymond Luxury Yacht is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. John throws a right hand that misses
and Luxury Yacht counters with a big head kick but John shrugs it off. Luxury Yacht cracks John with a right hand to the side of the head. Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but John might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Luxury Yacht has got the better of the exchanges. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. John throws a poor cross that misses
and Luxury Yacht counters with a one-two to the body. John misses with an uppercut
and Luxury Yacht counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Medium John has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! John tries to clinch and Luxury Yacht counters with an outside leg kick.

Quitecontrary closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. DooDoo blocks an elbow strike. DooDoo dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. DooDoo looking to slow down the pace here. Quitecontrary working some nice short punches in the clinch. Quitecontrary is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. DooDoo is defending well for now. DooDoo misses with a punch on the inside.

DooDoo tries to land a body kick and Quitecontrary counters with a big head kick but DooDoo shrugs it off. Quitecontrary walks into a jab. A punch combination from Quitecontrary misses. Quitecontrary fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and DooDoo has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Quitecontrary throws a push kick but DooDoo slaps the foot to one side. Quitecontrary throws a leg kick which misses DooDoo's front leg but catches the back leg as DooDoo tries to avoid it. Quitecontrary throws a nice head kick!
Quitecontrary keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from DooDoo. Quitecontrary ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. DooDoo throws a hook but Quitecontrary avoids it easily.

DooDoo on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Quitecontrary lands a body shot.

Face scores with a hook. This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Herald might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. Herald lands a nice looking body shot.

Face and Herald are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Face throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Herald into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Face knows it - he's on the cage flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
