I think Chavez might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Hard knock life. Zilvia is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Snow ( Hey oh ). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Robertson Zilvia was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Soule wants to control but Damon postures up.

Soule is trying to maintain the position but Damon is very close to passing his half guard.
Damon is looking to take a break and control but Soule is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Damon thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Damon dives in and grabs Soule's left leg, looking for a takedown. Soule pushes down on Damon's head and hops out.
Soule fails with the takedown.
Damon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Soule counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Damon looks gassed!

Soule throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Damon was covering up waiting for the punch and Soule finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Soule trying to control the position from guard on top but Damon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Damon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Soule. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Damon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Soule is one step ahead there.
Soule trying to control the position from guard on top but Damon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Soule drops back looking for a leg! Damon is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Damon manages to kick Soule off! Soule jumps back into Damon's guard.
Damon is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Damon takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A combination from Soule does no damage.
Damon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Soule counters with a series of strikes. Damon will be more careful next time no doubt.
Sam Soule has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hollis Damon.
Soule tries to score a power double leg takedown but Damon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Soule somewhat.
Soule throws a right hand that Damon ducks under and follows up with a left that Damon also avoids with ease.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Hollis Damon will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Damon tries for a takedown but Soule circles away easily
and Soule counters with a nice body shot.
Damon swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Soule counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Soule seems to be looking for submissions.

Soule is working for a submission of some sort.
Soule stalling.
Damon trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Soule manages to pass to mount!
Damon is breathing heavily.

Soule looking for a guillotine from mount but Damon is having none of it.
Damon wants to hold on but Soule pushes him away.

Soule goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Damon turns into him and now he's in Soule's guard.

Soule had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Damon defends it easily.

Soule is looking for a triangle but Damon pushes his legs off easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Soule pulls Damon in to control the position.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Soule here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Damon in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Soule has his foot on Damon's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Damon works his way back into a safe position though.
Damon postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Soule looking to control.
Damon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Soule swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Soule looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Damon passes into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Damon throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Damon is just content to waste time from the top position. Soule takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Damon is sitting in close to Soule's body. Soule has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Damon is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Damon is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Soule.

Ridley moves in looking to clinch but Long pushes him off.
Long throws a head kick but Ridley moves out of range.
Ridley shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Long as he avoids it easily.
Ridley is looking to clinch but Long is avoiding it.
Long tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Long stuffs the takedown attempt from Ridley. Ridley gets slowly back to his feet.
Long lands with a slapping head kick.
Long lands with a kick to the ribs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ridley looks to clinch
and Long counters with a monster head kick that knocks Ridley out cold! He topples like fallen a tree, crashing to the mat! Timbeeeeeerrr!
