The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pena Milani throws a jab but it's blocked by Stephenson. Stephenson misses with a jab to the body
and Pena Milani counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Good leg kick by Pena Milani there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Pena Milani rushes Stephenson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Pena Milani displaying some good clinch control by pressing Stephenson up against the cage. Stephenson is trying to break the clinch but Pena Milani has him pressed against the cage. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Angle bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Gold is trying to control Angle's posture but Angle avoids it. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gold can do anything to dispel that myth. Gold tries to get back to half guard but can't. Gold is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Gold gets back to half guard. Angle looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

A combination from Angle does no damage. A momentary lapse in concentration from Gold enables Angle to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Q got a little sloppy there for a moment and Damn has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Q has managed to get both his arms back between Damn's legs - danger averted. Q trying to control but Damn is working from the bottom. Damn has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Q can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Damn has his feet on Q's thighs here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Monson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Monson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Huefte is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Monson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Huefte dives on top into guard. Huefte controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Monson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Huefte defends well. Huefte slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Monson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Huefte doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Huefte manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Huefte got a little sloppy there for a moment and Monson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Huefte has managed to get both his arms back between Monson's legs - danger averted. Huefte has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Monson to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Huefte is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Monson pulls down on the head and he's put Huefte to sleep! This one is all over!

McGill tries to score a power double leg takedown but McPlum sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten McGill somewhat. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. McGill looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

McPlum wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! And that's the end of the fight! Frank McPlum showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for McPlum, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
