Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Kennedy Michaels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lane Pedersen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Michaels comes to the ring accompanied by Folsom Prison Blues cover by Everlast. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

19 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lane Pedersen! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Michaels fails in his attempt to clinch. Michaels throws the left hand but Pedersen avoids the punch easily. Pedersen gets tackled into the ropes by Michaels. Michaels maintains the clinch. Michaels pushes Pedersen back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head. Michaels lands an elbow inside. Pedersen misses with a short punch on the inside. Michaels misses with a punch on the inside.
Pedersen is trying to push Michaels away but Michaels has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere. Michaels taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
A right hook to the body lands for Michaels.
Michaels's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Michaels misses with a low kick as Pedersen jumps back. Pedersen uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Pedersen throws an off balance right hand

Michaels is pushing Pedersen up against the ropes, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Michaels unloads a knee to the mid-section. Pedersen lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Pedersen wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Michaels has him pressed against the ropes. A nice right hand lands inside from Michaels. Come on Michaels - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Michaels escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Michaels tries to clinch up. A nice leg kick lands there from Michaels. Pedersen moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Michaels feints and then cracks Pedersen's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Pedersen down. Good leg kick by Michaels there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Michaels throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Michaels with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Pedersen to score with a decent uppercut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Michaels will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Michaels fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pedersen manages to avoid it. The crowd cheers as Pedersen lands an impressive looking overhand right. Michaels doesn't seem phased though. Pedersen throws a head kick but Michaels moves out of range.

I think Grigoriev might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Buju Banton - Walk Like A Champion. It looks like Maxim Grigoriev has been cut. Grigoriev really is a fat lump. Grigoriev lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. No joy there for Grigoriev, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Grigoriev swats away the attempt to clinch by De La Currismo. Grigoriev misses with a body kick. Grigoriev slips under a jab. De La Currismo with a nice cross. De La Currismo looks to land a combination but Grigoriev avoids it well. Grigoriev throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Grigoriev ducks under a wild hook from De La Currismo. De La Currismo lands a head kick that bluckles Grigoriev and drops him to the canvas. He's still conscious but it looks like it's going to take him the full 10 seconds to get back his senses! He's up on 9 and seems to be just about OK to continue.... the referee agrees and we're back to the action with De La Currismo no doubt looking to push for a finish! Grigoriev misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendoza checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Mendoza throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
It looks like Eric Esch has been cut. Eric Esch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Esch just misses with a punch to the body.
Mendoza closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. A knee to the head by Mendoza.
Mendoza lands an elbow inside that Esch shrugs off. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A right handed body shot lands from Mendoza.

Mendoza lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Esch is trying to maintain a safe position but Mendoza gets an underhook and turns Esch into the ropes. Mendoza comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Esch is breathing heavily. Mendoza crunches a lovely knee into Esch's ribcage. Esch tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. A nice glancing elbow lands by Mendoza.
Eric Esch's cut is getting worse. Mendoza drops Esch with a big knee! Will Esch beat the count? Yep, he's up already and we're only at 3... let's see if he's just faking it or if he's actually OK.
Eric Esch's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Mendoza closes the distance and clinches. Mendoza is looking to land a big knee to finish this one. He's got control of the head and as Esch tries to break Mendoza's hands from around his neck, Mendoza unloads with that fight ending knee, right up the middle! Oh man, that was nasty! Esch will need to get back to the training room and learn how to defend against the thai clinch! Oooh, his nose is a mess. Hopefully it's not broken.

The fighters are pressed against the ropes, as the pace of the fight slows. Kurosawa prevents a body shot from Ruxin. Ruxin trying to stall but Kurosawa improves his position.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Kurosawa seems a little flustered. He's come in with the intention of controlling the clinch but Ruxin is preventing him from doing so, at least for the moment. A head punch blocked on the inside by Ruxin. With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Kurosawa creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Ruxin misses with a shot to the kidneys.
