Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Michael Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sean Parker! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Parker wants to clinch. Horrible takedown by Johnson or perhaps it was just good defense by Parker which made him look bad. Parker shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Johnson pinned against the cage. Johnson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. No joy there for Johnson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Johnson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Johnson looking to pass the guard. Parker working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Johnson. Johnson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Parker is keeping the position for now. Parker keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Michael Johnson has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Johnson jabs at Parker's body. Johnson has a takedown stuffed. Parker tries for a takedown but Johnson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Horrible takedown by Parker or perhaps it was just good defense by Johnson which made him look bad. Michael Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sean Parker. Parker fails with a takedown attempt. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Parker. Parker shoots in and drives through. Johnson sprawls well.

It looks like Sean Parker has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Parker throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Johnson's waist but Johnson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Parker off to one side. Parker leaves Johnson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Johnson shoots in looking for a takedown but Parker manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Johnson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Parker shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Johnson is trying desperately to improve position. Johnson is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Parker working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Johnson bucks Parker off and manages to get back to his feet! Parker shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Parker landing with the ground and pound. Parker connects with a couple of short punches. Parker wants to pass the guard but Johnson is keeping the position. Johnson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Parker is one step ahead there. Johnson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Johnson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Parker gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Johnson wants to stand and escape but Parker is having none of it. Johnson keeping full guard, as Parker tries to pass. Parker content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Johnson has locked up a guillotine! Johnson's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Parker is holding on here and Johnson must be using up a lot of energy. Parker has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Johnson gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Michael Johnson! After winning the bout, Michael Johnson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Winslow lands strikes from half guard. Winslow thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Martinez's head. Winslow stands up from half guard. Martinez lands a left and a right that send Winslow crashing to the mat, dazed. Martinez thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Guillermo Martinez will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Sully fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Savage closes the distance and clinches. Sully blocks an elbow strike. Savage misses with a knee strike.
Sully gets control of Savage's arms and successfully pulls guard. Sully will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Savage preventing the sweep. Savage tries to stand but Sully is controlling from the bottom. Savage tries to free his leg and advance position but Sully is retaining full guard. Savage slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Sully controls Savage momentarily but Savage frees himself.
