The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Louza shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Calzada counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Louza fails with a takedown attempt. Calzada connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Louza wants to clinch. Louza is trying hard to land a takedown here. Calzada sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Perlito Calzada has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rebaldo Louza. Louza takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Denton Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Offembach's chin! Offembach crumbles to the ground and Denton follows up with some unanswered strikes. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gray pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Welsh tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gray swivels and escapes. David Gray seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Gray tries to score with a low kick but Welsh moves his leg out of the way. Gray fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Welsh checks it well. Gray throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Gray avoids a punch combination nicely.

Gray lands with a kick to the temple. Welsh shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" This has been an exciting period of action! Gray scores with a shot to the body.
Gray tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Welsh was well out of range. Poor timing from Gray. Gray lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Gray fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Welsh on the side of the head. Gray looks for the body kick but Welsh saw that one coming. Gray showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Welsh.
Gray wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Welsh has a takedown stuffed. The fight stays on the outside here - Welsh looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Welsh moves out of range of the leg kick from Gray. Gray buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Welsh wants to clinch but Gray slips to the side letting Gray counter with a right hand. Gray throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Gray fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Welsh, pushing him back against the cage. Gray lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Gray lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Welsh is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rick Welsh. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gray working some nice short punches in the clinch. Gray landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Welsh is breathing heavily. Gray will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Welsh up against the cage. The crowd are getting on Gray's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gray lands a nice uppercut. Gray lands a right hand that snaps the head of Welsh backwards. Gray breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Gray is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Gray slaps away a takedown attempt from Welsh, before circling back to the center of the mat. Welsh takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Gray punishes Welsh's body with a nice straight punch. Gray has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Gray lands with a kick to the ribs.

Gray fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Welsh is out of range. Welsh uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Gray.

"I'm sorry" says Gray. Welsh manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Gray fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Welsh has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Nice body kick from Gray. Welsh on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Gray scores with a spinning back kick! Welsh walks into a straight right hand from Gray. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thomas drives through with a takedown into OReily's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Thomas trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Thomas wants to control from the top but OReily keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. OReily not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Thomas got a little sloppy there for a moment and OReily has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Thomas has managed to get both his arms back between OReily's legs - danger averted. Thomas tries to free his leg and advance position but OReily is retaining full guard. Thomas should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Ijima is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Ijima might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Ijima postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Pinto trying to control the position.

18 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gegard Zaromskis! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
23 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kenny Gomi! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Emerson Jorge and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gomi fails to land the takedown. Gomi clinches. Zaromskis has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Gomi clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Gomi looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Zaromskis doesn't have the hooks in and Gomi manages to turn into his guard.
Zaromskis has his hands on Gomi's head, controlling the position. Gomi connects with a couple of short punches. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
