The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Benoit is looking to clinch. Emelianenko tries to clinch there but Benoit circles away.
Benoit tries to clinch but Emelianenko is having none of it. Emelianenko leaves Benoit with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown but Benoit shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Emelianenko shoots in but Benoit avoids the takedown attempt easily. Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Benoit as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thor Emelianenko. That's going to take a lot out of him. Benoit is looking to clinch but Emelianenko is avoiding it.

Emelianenko defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Benoit. Benoit closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

It looks like Benoit might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Thor Emelianenko. Emelianenko fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Emelianenko instigates a clinch. Benoit tries to pull guard but Emelianenko holds him up against the ropes and eventually Benoit drops back down to his feet.

Emelianenko pulls Benoit into guard.

Benoit darts in trying to clinch so Emelianenko counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Emelianenko wants to control from the top but Benoit keeps moving. Emelianenko wants to get up but he can't break Benoit's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Benoit pushes a forearm under Emelianenko's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Emelianenko is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yelgersmold scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Gudjonsen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Yelgersmold tries to avoid it but Gudjonsen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Yelgersmold to the ground. Yelgersmold escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Yelgersmold defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Gudjonsen. Gudjonsen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Yelgersmold's waist but Yelgersmold gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Gudjonsen off to one side. Drakaath Yelgersmold has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Erik Gudjonsen. Yelgersmold cracks Gudjonsen with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.
It looks like Erik Gudjonsen has been cut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gudjonsen wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Yelgersmold lands an uppercut, right on the button! Gudjonsen tumbles backwards into the ropes, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Drakaath Yelgersmold! Post fight, Drakaath Yelgersmold took to the microphone: 'I come from the land of frost giants and will not be pushed around by mere mortals ever again!!!!'.

Sikkila has picked Sand up - he's going for a ride! Sikkila dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Sikkila in particular looking to stall. Sikkila stops Sand from getting back to his feet.
Sikkila seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sikkila connects with a nice short shot to Sand's temple. Sikkila wants to work for an arm triangle but Sand is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Sikkila lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Sand hang on? Sikkila lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Sikkila postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Sand looks a forlorn figure.

That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Link lands with a good body shot. Martinez closes the distance and clinches up with Link, looking for a takedown. Martinez pushes Link against the ropes but Link circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Martinez wants to clinch but Link slips to the side and Link counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Ricardo Martinez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Martinez blocks a head kick by Link.
Martinez on the wrong end of a nice hook. Link connects with a good right hand that stumbles Martinez. Martinez circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Link, as that shot connected.
Link is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Link throws a series of punches but Martinez moves out of range. Martinez fails with a takedown attempt. Gerard Link has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricardo Martinez. Link pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Martinez back to the ropes. Link follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Link uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Martinez has time to react. Martinez takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Link lands with a nice body punch. Link throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Link scores with a punch to the head. Martinez on the wrong end of a nice jab. Nice body punch from Link.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Link lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Link is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Link stalks Martinez and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Martinez's face. Martinez staggers backwards, shaken. Link lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Martinez is trying desperately to land a takedown but Link is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Martinez. Link scores with a one two! Martinez had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Link scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Martinez is rocked! Link drops Martinez with a straight right hand, right on the button! Link follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gerard Link! Gerard Link tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zend darts in and clinches Nyrkki up against the ropes. Nyrkki is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes. With the two fighters working up against the ropes, Nyrkki just misses with a elbow thrown towards Zend's brow. Nyrkki tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Nyrkki misses with a punch to the body.
Zend lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Zend slowing the pace effectively. Zend misses with a hook from the clinch. Zend prevents a body shot from Nyrkki. Zend working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
It looks like Mauri Nyrkki has been cut. A nice left hand lands by Zend.
Zend unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Nyrkki! He's leaning against the ropes trying to keep his feet but Zend is unloading with more strikes now! Nyrkki drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

That's going to take a lot out of him. Donalds misses with a head kick.

Zero misses with a takedown attempt and Donalds counters with a lovely straight right hand! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Donalds tries to bum rush Zero with a series of wild strikes but Zero uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Zero fails with the takedown and Donalds counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Donalds swinging wildly here.

Max Zero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Donalds looks to throw the jab but Zero is out of range. Zero closes this distance looking for a takedown but Donalds circles away. Donalds throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

11 - 15 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kitsune Tsuki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Terrance Smith! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tsuki tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Smith paws at him with a jab and circles away. Tsuki keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Smith cracks Tsuki with a right hand to the side of the head. Smith throws a hook but Tsuki blocks it. Smith throws a series of strikes that have Tsuki backpedaling.
Smith looks to land a left hand but Tsuki moved out of range nicely. Smith misses with a series of wild punches.
Tsuki shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Smith as he avoids it easily. Smith misses with a wild combination.
Tsuki fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Smith avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A punch lands to the side of Tsuki 's head but he takes it in his stride. A looping hook to the body misses from Smith. Tsuki does a little dance to reset his feet. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Tsuki tries to clinch but Smith moves out of range. Smith avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Smith throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A punch combination from Smith misses. Terrance Smith seems to be getting the better of the standup. Tsuki tries to clinch but Smith moves out of range. Tsuki just misses with a punch to the body.

Tsuki darts in trying to clinch and Smith counters with a lovely shot to the body. Smith connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Tsuki's hands. Tsuki has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Tsuki there as he acknowledges the shot. Smith ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tsuki moves away. Smith throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Tsuki shoots in looking for a takedown. Smith tries to sprawl out of it but Tsuki keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Smith manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Smith stuffs the takedown. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Smith lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Tsuki is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Smith is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Tsuki flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Tsuki is out cold! Smith holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
