The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bombada scores with a punch to the head. Bombada closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Espinosa fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bombada avoids it really well and circles away. The crowd cheers as Espinosa lands an impressive looking overhand right. Bombada doesn't seem phased though. Sloppy strikes from Bombada. Those never looked like landing. Espinosa shoots in and drives through. Bombada sprawls well. Espinosa shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bombada as he jumps to the side. Champ Bombada has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesus Espinosa. Espinosa shoots in and drives through. Bombada sprawls well. Bombada misses with a looping right. Excellent takedown into side control there by Espinosa. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Espinosa tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Espinosa has let go of the choke. Horrible takedown by Espinosa or perhaps it was just good defense by Bombada which made him look bad. Espinosa's corner calls for a 1-2. Espinosa obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Espinosa shoots in looking for a takedown. Bombada tries to sprawl out of it but Espinosa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Bombada manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. A decent looking cross lands there for Bombada. Bombada with a body punch. A glancing blow. Espinosa walks into a stiff left hand from Bombada. Espinosa shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bombada pinned against the ropes. Bombada gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Espinosa shoots in looking for a takedown but Bombada manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Espinosa's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Bombada manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Jesus Espinosa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bombada ducks under a wild hook from Espinosa. Espinosa misses with a looping right. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bombada defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Espinosa. Espinosa throws a sloppy head kick and Bombada moves out of range easily. Bombada throws a looping overhand right but Espinosa ducks down to avoid it. Espinosa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Bombada swivels and escapes. Bombada missing with a left hand there. Espinosa was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Bombada lands with a right hand. Bombada slips under a jab. Jab, jab by Bombada - just one landing. Champ Bombada is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Bombada misses with a looping left. Espinosa keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Bombada. Espinosa shoots for a double leg takedown but Bombada sprawls well. He's pushed Espinosa's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Bombada looks to land a combination but Espinosa avoids it well. Nice uppercut there from Bombada. Bombada lands a really nice looking cross but Espinosa seems unphased.

Espinosa fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Espinosa shoots in for a double leg but Bombada sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Nice shot lands for Bombada. Espinosa ducks under a wild hook from Bombada. Bombada wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bombada looks to score with a jab to the body but Espinosa is just out of range. Bombada misses with a hook. Espinosa ducked under it nicely. Espinosa shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Espinosa throws a strike there. Bombada manages to avoid it well and slips a leg under to get to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Espinosa throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Bombada to regain full guard. Espinosa looking to sit in guard and control but Bombada gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Espinosa wants to stand and escape but Bombada is having none of it. Bombada trying to stand up but can't free himself from Espinosa's guard. Espinosa wants to get back to his feet but Bombada is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Espinosa has a closed guard, preventing Bombada from standing up. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Espinosa is looking to stand up but Bombada isn't so interested in that idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Champ Bombada will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Espinosa tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Espinosa with a lazy takedown attempt and Bombada counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Bombada throws a wild combination but nothing lands. No joy there for Espinosa, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Espinosa fails with the takedown and Bombada counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Bombada throws a lazy right hand but Espinosa sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Bombada avoids the head kick by Espinosa.
Espinosa closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bombada circles away. Champ Bombada has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesus Espinosa. Espinosa will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Bombada slips a straight right by Espinosa. No luck with that takedown attempt from Espinosa. Espinosa is breathing heavily. Espinosa shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Espinosa shoots in for a takedown but Bombada shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Bombada swings and misses with a hook to the body.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Funakoshi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Guth circles away quickly and effectively. Guth needs to keep his hands up - Funakoshi had a free shot at his head there. A swing and a miss from Funakoshi. Guth avoids the body shot from Funakoshi.
