Mercer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Krowtits moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Krowtits shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mercer sprawls well. Mercer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Krowtits gets slowly back to his feet.
Krowtits will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Horrible takedown by Krowtits or perhaps it was just good defense by Mercer which made him look bad.

The fight stays on the outside here - McGrady looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
McGrady lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Halliday circles away quickly and effectively.

and Halliday counters with a series of strikes. McGrady will be more careful next time no doubt.

Both fighters circling a little - K finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
K displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Chandler.
Chandler wants to clinch but K slips to the side
and K counters with a thumping low kick.

K lands a nice uppercut.
A right handed body shot lands from K .

K manages to break the clinch.
Chandler has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Chandler there as he acknowledges the shot.

Chandler throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. K tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Chandler is in K 's guard.

He only made it down to 266.1lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Kwidama tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Kwidama lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Smith scores with a nice head shot.
Kwidama swings for the body but Smith moves out of range.

Kwidama throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Smith takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Smith changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kwidama tries to avoid it but Smith manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kwidama to the ground. Kwidama escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Kwidama counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Kwidama lands with an uppercut that bounces Smith off the cage and back into range.

Kwidama drops Smith with a beautiful combination! Smith stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Kwidama is looking for the KO!

I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Kwidama has cracked Smith with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Kwidama lands another huge swinging hook and Smith tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Smith, before Kwidama can land any more shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Chaly Kwidama! Chaly Kwidama retains his middleweight title!
Chaly Kwidama really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Ganja's Warehouse (95% Laundering) logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
