Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between James Garlock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Lambert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garlock comes to the cage accompanied by Dynamite. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Garlock!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robert Lambert!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Donatello Bradman and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lambert takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Garlock shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Lambert counters with a shoot takedown. Garlock fights it but they end up in guard.
Garlock keeping full guard, as Lambert tries to pass.
Garlock will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Garlock is trying to control the position but Lambert postures up.
Garlock is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lambert is controlling him.

Garlock looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Lambert showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Lambert trying to control but Garlock is working from the bottom.
Lambert is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Let's hope that Lambert has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Robert Lambert was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Lambert fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Garlock to the ground. Lambert is now in Garlock's guard.

Lambert has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Garlock off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Lambert throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Garlock was covering up waiting for the punch and Lambert finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Garlock can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lambert controls the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lambert in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Lambert throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Garlock works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Garlock lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Lambert!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lambert feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Garlock tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Lambert manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Garlock moves in looking to clinch but Lambert pushes him off.
The fight stays on the outside here - Garlock looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

and Lambert counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lambert.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Robert Lambert hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Turner makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Capurro throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Turner ducks under a wild hook from Capurro.
Capurro avoids the body shot from Turner.

Turner throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Capurro on the wrong end of a nice jab.

Turner lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Capurro closes the distance and clinches up with Turner, looking for a takedown. Capurro pushes Turner against the cage but Turner circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Capurro closes the distance and clinches up with Turner, looking for a takedown. Capurro pushes Turner against the cage but Turner circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Turner uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Capurro with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Turner to score with a decent uppercut.

Capurro decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Capurro not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Capurro seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Turner does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Turner throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Capurro stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Turner lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Capurro.
Capurro gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Capurro walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Turner slaps away a takedown attempt from Capurro, before circling back to the center of the mat.

and Turner counters with a one-two to the body.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kwame Turner showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Turner, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
