Undercard bout

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between George Hicks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robinson Crusoe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Robinson Crusoe struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.2lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Robinson Crusoe will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hicks looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Hicks ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Crusoe moves away.

Horrible takedown by Crusoe or perhaps it was just good defense by Hicks which made him look bad.

Crusoe shoots in looking for a takedown but Hicks manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Crusoe's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Hicks manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Crusoe on his heels. He'll look to pass Crusoe's guard now, I'm sure.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Robinson Crusoe hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Hicks feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hicks wants to get up but he can't break Crusoe's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
