The bell rings for round one and we are underway! James closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Dawkins is trying to control James's posture but James avoids it. Dawkins tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but James wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Dawkins is trying to control James's posture but James avoids it. That's going to take a lot out of Sid James. Dawkins misses with a takedown attempt - James sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. James gets a double leg takedown into Dawkins's guard. James is looking to stand up but Dawkins won't let him. Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tito Hall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Philip Levasqua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Levasqua's choice of entrance music: Endless Summer. Philip Levasqua struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 206.8lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Levasqua fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hall avoids it really well and circles away. Levasqua looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Hall shoots in but Levasqua avoids the takedown attempt easily. Levasqua throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hall was covering up waiting for the punch and Levasqua finishes the takedown easily into guard. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Levasqua is looking to pass into half guard but Hall pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Hall is in guard. Hall wants to control from the top but Levasqua keeps moving. Hall looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Levasqua really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hall. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hall wants to pass the guard but Levasqua is keeping the position.

Cold has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Cold wants to stand but Villia is controlling his posture from full guard. Diggler lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Hendo pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Hendo throws the left hand but Diggler avoids the punch easily. Diggler defending well as Hendo loads up on a big left hand. Hendo looks for a takedown but Diggler sprawls well. Diggler throws a body punch but Hendo moves out of range. Hendo is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Hendo on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Diggler looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Hendo tries to clinch but Diggler is having none of it. Diggler throws a head kick that misses. Hendo tries to clinch up but Diggler circles away and keeps his distance. Hendo misses with a few strikes there.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over. Diggler jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hendo is working for takedown but Diggler is calmly controlling the position for now. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Danny Hendo. That's going to take a lot out of him. Diggler with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Diggler. Diggler bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hendo's head backwards. Hendo tries to clinch up. Diggler throws a leg kick that misses. Diggler tries to close the distance and clinch but Hendo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Diggler takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hendo moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Diggler is rocked! Hendo measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Diggler! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
