With the fighters clinched against the cage, Ashantie creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Ashantie pushes Goodridge back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

And that's the end of the fight!
Congo Ashantie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patton fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

It looks like Dick Dingleberry has been cut.
Patton tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Dingleberry is able to avoid easily.
Dingleberry uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Patton.

Dingleberry fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Patton has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Dingleberry scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Patton doesn't seem bothered though.
Patton throws a nice looking combination but Dingleberry bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Patton connects with a solid leg kick.
Patton's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Patton duly obliges.

and Dingleberry counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Patton's guard now.
Dingleberry is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Patton is looking to cinch up a triangle. Dingleberry throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Patton's body to avoid the submission. Patton has instead reached around Dingleberry's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Patton arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Grundy stuffs the takedown.
Smokudju Womba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Womba lands with a cross.
Grundy takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Womba throws a low kick but Grundy avoids it.
Grundy swings for the body but Womba moves out of range.
Womba tries to land a front kick but Grundy steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Womba drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Grundy avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Womba.
Womba fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Womba throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Grundy is trying to buck Womba off.

Womba thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Womba landing strikes.
Womba throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Grundy is trying to buck Womba off.
Womba works to advance to full mount. Grundy defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Grundy wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Womba.
Womba lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Womba swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Grundy is now in Womba's guard. A big mistake from Womba there, giving up the dominant position!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Womba looking for a triangle here. Grundy is fighting it but it looks tight! Womba pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Grundy is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Smokudju Womba!
