The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sliper tries to clinch there but Hill circles away.
Hill fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Excellent takedown into side control there by Sliper. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Hill can't do much from the bottom here. Sliper passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Hill! Hill wants to control but Sliper is having none of it. Sliper quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Sliper but it's paid off an Hill is forced to tap! Nice work by Sliper.

4 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matsumae Sukeyuki ! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Leandro Rodrigues and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sukeyuki dodges the punch combination from Torres.
Sukeyuki misses with a double jab
and Torres counters with a left to the body. The fight stays on the outside here - Sukeyuki looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Sukeyuki shoots in but no luck this time. Sukeyuki throws a right and a left that Torres avoids nicely. Torres misses with a two punch combination.
Sukeyuki fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Torres manages to avoid it. Sukeyuki dives in and grabs Torres's left leg, looking for a takedown. Torres pushes down on Sukeyuki 's head and hops out. Sukeyuki forces Torres back against the cage and clinches. Torres is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Torres tries to break free but Sukeyuki pushes him back against the cage. Sukeyuki decides to pull guard. Torres wants to control from the top but Sukeyuki keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sukeyuki is controlling Torres's posture. Torres not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

It looks like Matsumae Sukeyuki has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sukeyuki throws a big shot that misses. Sukeyuki 's corner calls for a 1-2. Sukeyuki obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Sukeyuki throws a leg kick but Torres moved away. Torres throws a right and a left that both miss.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sukeyuki lands with a good body shot. Sukeyuki throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Sukeyuki throws out a loose jab but Torres uses good head movement to avoid it. A lazy left from Sukeyuki finds it's target. Sukeyuki misses with a head kick.
Torres keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Sukeyuki . Sukeyuki closes the distance and clinches. Torres tries to break free but Sukeyuki pushes him back against the cage. Torres is trying to break the clinch but Sukeyuki is controlling him. Sukeyuki breaks from the clinch.
Sukeyuki wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Sukeyuki jabs Torres to the body, keeping him at a distance. Good shot there by Sukeyuki . Torres gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Sukeyuki connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Torres is breathing heavily.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Torres throws a nice looking combination but Sukeyuki bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Sukeyuki changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Torres looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Sukeyuki throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Torres works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Torres won't allow Sukeyuki to pass to mount. Sukeyuki is trying to control the action in half guard but Torres is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Sukeyuki misses with a head shot. Torres uses the momentum to regain guard. Sukeyuki is looking to work some ground and pound but Torres has wrist control. Sukeyuki throwing strikes but missing. Torres is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Sukeyuki lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

And that's the end of the fight! Matsumae Sukeyuki comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Sukeyuki has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pilik with a lazy takedown attempt and Velasquez counters with a lovely shot to the body. Some bone on bone action there as Pilik checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Pilik on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Pilik swings for the body but Velasquez moves out of range.
Pilik gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Velasquez. Velasquez fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Pilik looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Velasquez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Pilik misses with a takedown and Velasquez counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
