Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yoshihiro Imanari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yoshihiro Imanari told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Yoshihiro Imanari! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Imanari misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Imanari wants to slow Rua down by chopping away at his legs. Rua misses with a series of wild punches.
Imanari wants to clinch. Rua feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Imanaris jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Imanari tries to keep at a distance but Rua has taken the fight into the clinch. Imanari taking a breather. Rua lands with a light punch inside.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Imanari shoots in for a takedown but Rua shows good takedown defense. Rua looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. A looping hook to the body misses from Rua. Imanari does a little dance to reset his feet. Rua tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Imanari paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Rua is looking to advance position but Imanari has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Rua wants to hold on but Imanari pushes him away.

Yoshihiro Imanari has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Imanari jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Rua manages to avoid the submission attempt. Rua holding on. Rua is trying to control Imanari's posture but Imanari avoids it.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gabriel Rua. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rua, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Ross got a little sloppy there for a moment and Timonyn has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ross has managed to get both his arms back between Timonyn's legs - danger averted. Timonyn has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Ross is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Timonyn. You can see the frustration on Timonyn's face as Ross controls the position.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stroud throws a right and a left that Motaro avoids nicely. Stroud is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Motaro. Motaro ducks under a wild hook from Stroud. Motaro misses with a body kick. Stroud takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Stroud tries to close the distance and clinch up but Motaro swats him away and circles back towards the center. Stroud shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Motaro as he avoids it easily. Stroud fails to land with a series of punches.
Decent striking displayed by Stroud there. Stroud ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Motaro moves away. Motaro connects with a body shot. Stroud tries to clinch but Motaro moves away and Motaro counters with a good low kick that Stroud was not able to check. Stroud scores with a body shot.
Stroud throws a right and a left that Motaro avoids nicely. This has been an exciting period of action! Stroud tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Motaro manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Motaro fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Stroud.

Glenn Stroud seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Stroud takes a body punch but keeps moving. Motaro lands with a thumping leg kick.

Stroud is rocked! Macros Motaro is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Motaro circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Stroud tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Motaro wins by KO!

Ruut drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Grabowski manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ruut has Grabowski in his guard. Ruut is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Ruut is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Grabowski is aware though and is defending well.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown by Boitsoff or perhaps it was just good defense by Game which made him look bad. Game dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Game scores with a nice strike. Game throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Boitsoff.

Jab from Game. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Game throws a sloppy head kick and Boitsoff moves out of range easily. Game tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Game throws a low kick but it's checked well by Boitsoff. Game swings away with a leg kick that misses. Boitsoff shoots in for a takedown but Game shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Game looks for the body kick but Boitsoff saw that one coming. Game slaps away a takedown attempt from Boitsoff, before circling back to the center of the mat. Nick Game has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Tyrmaaja's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Bennett connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Tyrmaaja scrambles back to his feet. Excellent takedown into side control there by Bennett. Bennett has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. You can see the frustration on Tyrmaaja's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Bennett fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Bennett slips a nice elbow through Tyrmaaja's hands, connecting with Tyrmaaja's forehead. Bennett uses his free foot to push down on Tyrmaaja's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Tyrmaaja. Bennett looking to secure an arm triangle but Tyrmaaja defends it well.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bennett lands a nice short elbow. Bennett is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Bennett throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Tyrmaaja's head. Tyrmaaja tries to roll over but Bennett keeps him under control. Ground and pound from Bennett. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Tyrmaaja tries to roll over but Bennett keeps him under control. Tyrmaaja is not content to let Bennett control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Odin fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Miodek has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Miodek thuds his right hand into Odin's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Odin waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Miodek. Miodek on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Odin. Odin obviously looking to wear him down.

Odin shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Miodek eats them both and turns towards Odin to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Both fighters circling a little - Odin finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Odin misses with a left hand and Miodek connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Odin throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Miodek scores with a shot to the body.

Odin throws a jab but it's blocked by Miodek. Odin throws a shot from downtown. Miodek moves away and avoids it. Odin lands a right hook to the body.
Miodek closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Miodek lands in his opponent's guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Miodek content to stall in guard here. Odin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
