Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Michael Page! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hammer Fist! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Page throws a head kick but Fist moves out of range.
Fist moves out of range of the leg kick from Page. Fist tries for a takedown but Page circles away easily and Page counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Page. Page has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Fist regains guard immediately. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Fist escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Page gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Page pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Fist is keeping the position for now. Page trying to control the position from guard on top but Fist is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fist has a closed guard, preventing Page from standing up. Fist is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Page defends well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fist keeping moving, preventing Page from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Page tries to stand but Fist is controlling from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Michael Page. Page tries a head kick but it misses.
Page scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Fist doesn't seem bothered though. A decent looking body kick lands there for Page. Fist blocks a jab. A nice inside leg kick there by Page. That's going to slow Fist down. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Page fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Fist looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Page shoots in and gets a takedown into Fist's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fist keeping moving, preventing Page from controlling successfully. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Michael Page just wasn't active enough. Fist takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
We've been told by Page's head coaches at LOD: EUOLUCAO MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

The fight moves into the clinch position. Page looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Fist tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Page just stands there and leans against the cage. Page's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Page tries a head kick but it misses.

Michael Page dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Page defends it easily. Page is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Fist has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Page is looking to defend but Fist has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Page! Fist pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Page taps out and this one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jerks gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Jaffer counters with a three punch combo that has Jerks backing up. Jerks nods at Jaffer to acknowledge the strikes. Jerks gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Jaffer counters with a thumping low kick. Jerks shoots and misses and Jaffer counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jaffer. James Jaffer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Jerks. Jaffer is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Jaffer gets through Jerks's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Jerks tries to circle away but Jaffer has him pinned against the cage. Jaffer gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Jaffer is pushing down on Jerks's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jerks is fighting to maintain full guard but Jaffer has managed to sneak the leg through. Jerks blocking the ground and pound attempt from Jaffer. Jerks pushes Jaffer off looking to stand but Jaffer dives back in and keeps control.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Jaffer working over Jerks with some ground and pound. Jerks looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Jaffer is working for a submission of some sort.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Jaffer creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Jaffer stops a takedown attempt from Jerks.
Jaffer wants the takedown. Jerks is fighting it off but Jaffer persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Jerks's guard against the cage. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Jerks has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Jaffer is really squeezing tight and eventually Jerks passes out! Jaffer breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

My spies in LOD: EUOLUCAO MMA inform me that Silva has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Petasse is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Louvierre lands a couple of decent looking shots. Louvierre landing some decent shots from guard. Louvierre got a little sloppy there for a moment and Petasse has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Louvierre has managed to get both his arms back between Petasse's legs - danger averted.
That's one minute gone in the round. Louvierre is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Louvierre definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Louvierre is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Louvierre is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Petasse keeping full guard, as Louvierre tries to pass. Petasse has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Louvierre is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Petasse. Petasse gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Petasse is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Louvierre pulls his head out easily.

Lance listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Lance attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Lance lands a lovely overhand right. Lance lands with a hook. Balls tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Lance cracks a nice hook into Balls's ribs. Balls doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Bubba Balls is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Balls is in Lance's guard. Balls controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Balls wants to control from the top but Lance keeps moving. Balls is looking to stand up but Lance won't let him. Balls stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lance swivels though and keeps the full guard. Balls slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

A little nod from Gracie there as he acknowledges the shot. Van Damme scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gracie is defended easily by Van Damme. Van Damme waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Gracie. Van Damme misses with a body kick. Gracie avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Gracie fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Van Damme avoids it really well and circles away. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gracie fails with a takedown attempt.

Gracie showed some decent athleticism there. Gracie is looking for a kimura here.
Gracie uses his free foot to push down on Van Damme's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Van Damme. Poor strikes thrown by Gracie there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Gracie wants to stay close but Van Damme steps back to make room for something. Gracie seems frozen to the spot and bam! huge swing of the leg from Van Damme and Gracie drops like he has been shot! A huge head kick and it's all over!
