The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Koltun throws a looping overhand right but Boot ducks down to avoid it. Koltun slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Boot throws a shot from downtown. Koltun moves away and avoids it. Boot looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Koltun is fending him off so far but Boot persists. Nope, Koltun circles away and we're back to standing. Boot listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Koltun misses with a body shot.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Koltun throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Bernardo counters with a low kick, right behind Koltun 's knee. A chopping leg kick lands by Bernardo. Koltun lands a glancing blow to the side of Bernardo's head. Bernardo thows a body shot but no joy. Benny Bernardo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. An inside leg kick lands from Bernardo. Bernardo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Koltun manages to avoid it. Bernardo moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Bernardo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Bernardo is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at The Pit, so we'll see if he gets out of it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Koltun is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bernardo doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Koltun. Koltun throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Bernardo to regain full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bernardo has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. A short left from Koltun. Koltun has Bernardo pressed against the cage, preventing Bernardo from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Bernardo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bernardo throws a hook to the side of Koltun's head but Koltun sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Koltun tries to clinch but Bernardo moves out of range. Koltun has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Koltun there as he acknowledges the shot. This has been an exciting period of action! Koltun cracks Bernardo with an open hand slap. Bernardo misses with a wild body shot. Bernardo shoots in and drives through. Koltun sprawls well. Bernardo avoids a lazy jab quite easily. That kick from Bernardo tenderised Koltun's leg. Koltun is trying to keep his angry face on. Bernardo takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Koltun connects with an inside leg kick. Bernardo uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Koltun.
Koltun takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Ksawery Koltun is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Koltun connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Koltun misses the shot to the body. Bernardo fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Koltun. Koltun lands with a hook. Bernardo tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Benny Bernardo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Koltun lands with a nice combination. Bernardo backs away looking to recover. Koltun throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bernardo. Bernardo misses the jab. A telegraphed right hand from Bernardo misses the target. Bernardo pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Koltun drops his hands momentarily and Bernardo takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Bernardo throws a hook but Koltun avoids it easily. Koltun showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bernardo.

Evans throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ross works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Ross pulls Evans in to control the position. Ross might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ross keeping full guard, as Evans tries to pass. Evans must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ross is on top in guard.

Destroyer goes for a double leg but Redban avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Redban continues to drive forward. Redban lands a shoulder strike. Redban lands a hook that snaps the head of Destroyer backwards. Destroyer is trying to drag Redban to the mat but Redban just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Nice body punch from Redban - that landed with a thud.
