The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stein throws a shot from downtown. Stahl moves away and avoids it.
Stahl throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Stein lands with an uppercut that bounces Stahl off the cage and back into range.
Stein scores with a hook to the body. Stahl takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Stahl throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Stahl throws an overhand right that lands on Stein's shoulder, as Stein tries to avoid the shot.

Bruno Stahl seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Stein has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Stein jabs Stahl right on the nose. Stahl blinks but takes it well.

Stahl swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Stein jumps guard and drags Stahl to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Stahl looking to sit in guard and control but Stein gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Stein not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Stein drops back looking for a leg! Stahl is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Stahl manages to kick Stein off! Stein jumps back into Stahl's guard.

Stahl is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stahl can do anything to dispel that myth.
Stein is pushing down on Stahl's leg trying to pass to half guard. Stahl is fighting to maintain full guard but Stein has managed to sneak the leg through.

Stein has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
