Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Arnold Mashine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Ettorei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Antonio Ettorei told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Arnold Mashine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Antonio Ettorei!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Winston Alpacca and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ettorei tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Mashine is looking to clinch but Ettorei is avoiding it.

Mashine gets the takedown into side control.
Mashine throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Mashine just content to control the position.
Mashine throws a strike aimed at the side of Ettorei's head but Ettorei avoids it well.
Mashine is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Mashine stands up.

Ettorei stuffs the takedown attempt from Mashine. Mashine gets slowly back to his feet.

Mashine looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Mashine fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mashine is defended easily by Ettorei.
Mashine shoots for a double leg takedown but Ettorei sprawls well. He's pushed Mashine's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Mashine feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ettorei can do anything to dispel that myth.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Ettorei wants to stand up but Mashine is controlling him.

Mashine gets to his feet. Ettorei looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Mashine closes the distance and clinches.
Ettorei gets underhooks to prevent Mashine's takedown attempt.

Mashine drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Mashine has clasped his hands together around Ettorei's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Mashine works to advance to full mount. Ettorei defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mashine is landing with some decent strikes but Ettorei is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Ettorei connects with a leg kick. Mashine looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mashine, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
