The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hicks showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Punchinson.
Punchinson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Punchinson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hicks moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Punch Punchinson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Punchinson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hicks circles away quickly and effectively.
Punchinson looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
No luck for Hicks with that takedown attempt.

Punchinson feints a jab promting Hicks to slip. Punchinson then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Hicks slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

It looks like Lewis Hicks has been cut.

Hicks closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Punchinson did well to prevent Hicks getting side control.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Punchinson has hold of Hicks's hands but Hicks slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Hicks is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Punchinson has managed to free his arm - good work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hennings feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Penn was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
