The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Maanpohja tries for a takedown but Alfredsson circles away easily and Alfredsson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Maanpohja doesn't succeed with the takedown and Alfredsson counters with a stiff right hand. Maanpohja looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Maanpohja avoids a punch combination nicely.
Alfredsson scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Maanpohja moves forwards but Alfredsson connects with a nice, crisp jab. Maanpohja misses with a takedown attempt. Hockles throws a head kick that misses and White counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Hockles looks for the body kick but White saw that one coming. White has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. White avoids the head kick by Hockles.

DeAngelo Suggs is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Good exchange - Suggs coming out on top. Matoshin shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Suggs but Suggs pushes him off and we're back to square one. A cross from Matoshin lands. Matoshin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Suggs as he jumps to the side. Suggs lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Tosen switches off momentarily and Nowacki cracks him with a monster right hand! Tosen topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Nowacki dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Nowacki!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Taphorn slips under a jab. Steroidi Jr scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Taphorn on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Steroidi Jr definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Taphorn tries to bum rush Steroidi Jr with a series of wild strikes but Steroidi Jr uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Taphorn takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Steroidi Jr looks for the body kick but Taphorn saw that one coming. Steroidi Jr closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Steroidi Jr works his foot free and advances to mount. Steroidi Jr takes a little breather and maintains the position. Steroidi Jr moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Taphorn turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Taphorn swings away with a body shot that misses
and Steroidi Jr counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Taphorn's guard now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Taphorn wants to control the position but Steroidi Jr says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Steroidi Jr is just content to waste time from the top position.
