Hadley comes to the cage accompanied by Bad Guy. Leopoldo has chosen Requiem for a Dream - Lux Aeterna as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hadley misses with a straight right.
Alex Hadley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hadley has managed to clinch.

Hadley breaks the clinch.
Hadley shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Leopoldo sprawls well. Leopoldo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hadley gets slowly back to his feet.

Hadley clinches up with Leopoldo and pushes him back against the cage.

Hadley decides to pull guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hupperts misses with a takedown

and Luff decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hupperts's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Hupperts wants to sweep but no luck.
Luff pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hupperts is keeping the position for now.
Luff makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Luff in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Luff postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

That was a close round but I would say that Juul Hupperts will probably get the nod.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

It looks like Kauri Mahuika has been cut.
Mahuika fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches DiM on the side of the head.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Mahuika has eaten all the pies!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
DiM rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mahuika moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A jab from Mahuika finds it's way through DiM's defenses.
A big right from DiM misses.
A nice combination there by Mahuika.
Mahuika showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from DiM.
DiM feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Mahuikas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Mahuika bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
DiM lands with a straight right. Mahuika didn't see that one coming.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
DiM throws a body shot but no joy.
DiM throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Mahuika's jaw, knocking him onto his back! DiM dives in looking to finish as Mahuika flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block DiM's strikes! DiM is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Mahuika's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Mahuika was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.

After winning the bout, Nich DiM thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
