2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Davi Lucca! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Ron Honeybunn and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lucca drives through with a takedown into Piekny's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Lucca wants to get up but he can't break Piekny's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Lucca wants to control from the top but Piekny keeps moving. Piekny throws his legs up looking for a submission but Lucca uses it to pass to side control.
Lucca working away. Lucca throwing shots but missing, from side control. Piekny is pushing Lucca's head away, looking to escape. Lucca manages to hold on to the position though. Lucca is looking to take a break and control but Piekny is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Lucca working away. We've been hearing that Piekny has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Piekny sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Lucca defending well though. Piekny slips a nice elbow through Lucca's hands, connecting with Lucca's forehead. Piekny thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lucca's head. Piekny thows a huge punch but Lucca dodges it nicely.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lucca taking some punishment here, with Piekny in his half guard. Let's see if Lucca can do anything to dispel that myth. Lucca tries to get to full guard but Piekny has control of the leg. Piekny missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Piekny looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Lucca with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Lucca is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Piekny scores with a couple of nice shots.

Lucca really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Piekny. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Piekny blocks the strikes from Lucca.
Lucca wants to control the action here but instead Piekny manages to pass to full mount! Piekny lands a nice shot to the head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Lucca is bucking up trying to escape but Piekny cracks him with another couple of good strikes. BOOM! Piekny connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Lucca is rocked! Piekny postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lucca looks a forlorn figure.
Lucca is still in real trouble! Can Piekny finish him?

Lucca seems to have recovered his senses. Piekny punishing his opponent with strikes. Lucca tries to hold on but Piekny pushes him away. Piekny scoring with strikes but Lucca is staying in there. Piekny lands a heavy elbow. Piekny lands a nice shot to the head. Piekny postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Lucca bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Piekny and the fight is over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dapalong ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Cava pulls out of a head kick attempt.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Paulino shoots in for a takedown but Tuivaga shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Paulino looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Tuivaga rushes Paulino and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Paulino is looking to take this one to the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ze Paulino. That's going to take a lot out of him. Paulino tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Paulino is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Paulino hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sloppy strikes from Smiles. Those never looked like landing. Ranu throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Ranu tries to clinch up. Ranu doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Ranu looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Ranu lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Ranu takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Smiles misses with a series of wild punches.
Smiles tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ranu was well out of range. Poor timing from Smiles. Ranu closes the distance and clinches. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. A head punch blocked on the inside by Smiles. Ranu has Smiles pressed against the cage, preventing Smiles from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Ranu stops a takedown attempt from Smiles.
That's one minute gone in the round. A frustrated look appears on Smiles's face as he tries to break the clinch. Ranu keeps control of Smiles as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Ranu content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Smiles drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ranu pulls his leg out and moves away.
Ranu tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smiles swats him away and circles back towards the center. Smiles looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Smiles with a body punch. A glancing blow. Ranu pushes Smiles away with a front kick. Smiles lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
