Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jon Sousa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cheif Keef (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Jon Sousa has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jon Sousa !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cheif Keef!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Ron Honeybunn and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sousa shoots in and drives through. Keef sprawls well.
Keef misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Keef slips a straight right by Sousa .

Keef shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Sousa wants to sweep here but Keef controlling him for the moment.

Sousa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Keef gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Sousa throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Keef must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Keef wants to control from the top but Sousa keeps moving.
Keef might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sousa haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Keef is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Sousa is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Sousa throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Keef feints the counter takedown.
Sousa throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Keef shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Keef was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Keef stands up and beckons Sousa to his feet.

Keef closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sousa to the mat! Sousa manages to get full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Keef wants to control from the top but Sousa keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Keef prevents Sousa from getting back to his feet.
Keef postures up.
Keef stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sousa swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sousa working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Keef.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Keef stands up and waves to Sousa to follow him.
No joy there for Keef, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Sousa gets caught flat footed, as Keef shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Sousa looking for a sweep. Not yet Sousa , not yet.
Keef really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sousa . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Keef works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Sousa moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Sousa is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Keef stands up and waves to Sousa to follow him.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Sousa fails with an attempt to clinch.
Keef follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land.
Sousa throws a series of punches but Keef moves out of range.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sousa is defended easily by Keef.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cheif Keef dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sousa is on top in guard.

Keef is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Sousa is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Keef is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Keef has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Sousa stands up and waves to Keef to follow him.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Keef moves into the clinch.

Keef gets control of Sousa 's arms and successfully pulls guard. Keef will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Sousa throws a strike but Keef rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Sousa wants to stand and escape but Keef is having none of it.
Keef won't allow Sousa to sweep him here.
Keef trying to control the position from guard on top but Sousa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Sousa is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Sousa prevents Keef from improving his position.
Keef missing with punches from the bottom.
Keef is trying to get back to full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Sousa not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Sousa not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Keef looking for submissions off his back.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Keef is breathing heavily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Sousa is looking for a kimura but Keef is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sousa to get the leverage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Cheif Keef will probably get the nod - 10:9.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Keef shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Sousa wants to control but Keef is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Sousa regains full guard. Nicely done.

Sousa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Keef doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Keef manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
