2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edmundo Vascaino! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vascaino tries to close the distance and clinch up but Castle swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Vascaino fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Castle, pushing him back against the cage. Vascaino throws a punch but it's blocked by Castle. Castle drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Vascaino lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Castle tries to score a body lock takedown but Vascaino shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Vascaino tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Vascaino lands a right hand that snaps the head of Castle backwards. Castle's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Vascaino doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shar throws a push kick but Ravn slaps the foot to one side. An inside leg kick lands from Shar.  It looks like BJ Penn has been cut. Penn throws a series of punches but Edwards moves out of range. Penn swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Edwards darts in and clinches Penn up against the cage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Edwards connects with a nasty looking knee right to Penn's face.
Edwards digs a right hand into Penn's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Penn's gas tank. Edwards lands an elbow inside. Edwards has Penn pressed against the cage, preventing Penn from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

 That's three minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Bato misses with a jab, cross combination.
Bato throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sopa. Bato moves in looking to clinch but Sopa pushes him off. Sopa shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bato sprawls well. Bato wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sopa gets slowly back to his feet. Bato misses with a two punch combination.
Some bone on bone action there as Sopa checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Bato will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Bato moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Bato fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Totoy Bato seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bato punishes Sopa's body with a nice straight punch. Bato is looking to clinch.
 That's five minutes gone in the round. Bato connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Sopa momentarily.
Bato throws a right and a left that Sopa avoids nicely. Bato works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Sopa blocks the body kick.
Jab from Bato. Bato connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Sopa! He's out on his feet! Bato rushes in and drops Sopa with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
