The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCool misses with the combination.
Hallow tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Hallow defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McCool. Hallow tries to close the distance and clinch up but McCool swats him away and circles back towards the center. Hallow defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McCool. The fight moves into the clinch position. Hallow lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down McCool. Hallow wants the takedown. McCool is fighting it off but Hallow persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in McCool's guard against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hallow lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. A right hook to the body lands for Hallow.

McCool is looking to advance position but Hallow won't allow it. Hallow makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hallow. McCool loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. McCool looking to pass the guard. Hallow looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

But no, McHatt has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Brutality but great work by McHatt. Brutality has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
