The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rengur gets a clinch.
Rengur has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Rengur misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Perez.
Perez has Rengur pressed against the cage, preventing Rengur from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Perez changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rengur fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Rengur is looking to clinch but Perez is avoiding it.

Perez shoots for a double leg takedown but Rengur sprawls well. He's pushed Perez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Perez counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Perez is working for a submission of some sort.
Rengur pushes Perez off looking to stand but Perez dives back in and keeps control.
Rengur is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
We've been hearing good reports from Perez's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Rengur makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Perez tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Rengur defends well and Perez ends up having to push Rengur into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Patti Rengur seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Perez throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Rengur tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Perez is in Rengur's guard.
Perez stands and throws Rengur's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Perez advances to mount.

Rengur is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Perez is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Perez extends the arm and Rengur is forced to tap!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gumption pushes Carter against the cage. Gumption is working some dirty boxing. Gumption pushes off with a quick right hook! Carter goes down! Carter tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Gumption moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!

Bubba Gumption spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
Rayjay Carter spoke after the fight, saying 'I would like to thank my fans for their continuing support. And I look forward to coming back and to prove myself.'.

Hales wants to stand up but Volkov has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Volkov is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Hales has latched onto it... Big trouble! Hales pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Volkov is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Hales!
