Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lehel Kosa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fudge Jr! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Igor Prikhodko and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jr lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Jr falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kosa counters with a one-two to the body. Jr stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jr wants it to stay on the feet. Jr doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Kosa closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jr circles away. Jr throws a right and a left that Kosa avoids nicely. As Jr backs away, Kosa returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Jr swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kosa clinches up against the cage. Kosa jumps guard but Jr turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lehel Kosa. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jr is pressed up against the cage. Kosa has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jr down to the mat. Jr avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Kosa gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kosa breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kosa takes a shot right to the bread basket. Kosa misses with a takedown enabling Jr to counter with a crisp jab. Kosa fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Jr swinging wildly here.
Kosa shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jr but Jr pushes him off and we're back to square one. Kosa misses with a jab, cross combination.
Fudge Jr is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Jr lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kosa tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jr manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. A punch combination from Jr misses. Jr slips a straight right by Kosa. Kosa closes the distance and clinches up with Jr, looking for a takedown. Kosa pushes Jr against the cage but Jr circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Kosa is breathing heavily. Jr tries to land a leg kick but Kosa saw it coming and moves away.
Kosa fails with the takedown and Jr counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. This has been an exciting period of action! Jr throws a right and a left that both miss. Jr throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Jr fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kosa shoots and misses and Jr counters with a series of strikes. Kosa will be more careful next time no doubt. Jr pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Jr throws a low kick, looking for Kosa's leg but Kosa calmly moves out of range. Kosa gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Jr counters with a left and a right that stings Kosa. Jr will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Jr throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Jr works Kosa's body with a nice hook. Jr is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Kosa rather than just go for the knockout. Left hook, right uppercut from Jr. Kosa blocks a low kick nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. No joy there for Jr, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
An attempted straight right counter from Kosa misses the target. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kosa throws a head kick that misses and Jr counters with a two punch combo. Jr scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Kosa is rocked! Jr is working the combinations to good effect here. Jr scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Oh Kosa is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Jr misses with a body kick. Kosa gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Jr gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fudge Jr!

and Wpierdol counters with a takedown into side control. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Wpierdol tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Wpierdol has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Lee Ii is trying to improve his position. Wpierdol tries for a kimura but Lee Ii is defending well. Wpierdol is trying to get an arm triangle but Lee Ii is defending well. Wpierdol is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lee Ii knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Wpierdol is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Lee Ii looks calm but he's in trouble here. Wpierdol gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Lee Ii is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Wpierdol lets go of the hold and Lee Ii can pop his arm back in it's socket.
