4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Simon Phoenix! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! RocknRolla scores with a nice head shot. Phoenix loads up on a big right hand but RocknRolla slips the punch. A looping hook to the body misses from RocknRolla. Phoenix does a little dance to reset his feet. RocknRolla throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Phoenix raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. RocknRolla lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Jab from RocknRolla. RocknRolla avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
RocknRolla swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
RocknRolla slips a straight right by Phoenix. RocknRolla was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. RocknRolla is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Phoenix. It seemed like Phoenix was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Phoenix throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Phoenix throws a head kick but RocknRolla moves out of range.
RocknRolla connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. RocknRolla dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Phoenix. That did some damage! RocknRolla misses with an uppercut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! RocknRolla misses with a hook. Phoenix ducked under it nicely. RocknRolla moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Phoenix looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
That's one minute gone in the round. Phoenix throws a right and a left that RocknRolla avoids nicely. RocknRolla keeps the fight on the outside. RocknRolla fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Phoenix is out of range. RocknRolla's corner calls for a 1-2. RocknRolla obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. RocknRolla connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. RocknRolla misses with a leg kick. Phoenix misses with a straight right. RocknRolla moves out of range as Phoenix strikes. Phoenix doesn't manage to clinch there - RocknRolla circles away.
Phoenix gets a clinch. I was talking to RocknRolla's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Phoenix has had enough of the clinch but RocknRolla keeps him there for the moment. RocknRolla lands an elbow that stopped Phoenix in his tracks for a moment.
It looks like Simon Phoenix has been cut. Phoenix stalling.
A short right from RocknRolla. RocknRolla breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. RocknRolla has Phoenix up against the cage in a clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, RocknRolla creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Phoenix takes an elbow to the temple. Phoenix prevents a body shot from RocknRolla. Phoenix escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
RocknRolla throws a looping overhand right but Phoenix ducks down to avoid it. RocknRolla throws a sloppy head kick and Phoenix moves out of range easily. RocknRolla stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. RocknRolla throws a series of punches but Phoenix moves out of range. Phoenix is looking to clinch. Phoenix throws a head kick that misses. RocknRolla went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Phoenix tries to clinch up. RocknRolla swings and misses with a hook to the body.
RocknRolla connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Phoenix tumbling to the canvas! RocknRolla pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Phoenix was done - good stoppage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harris cracks a nice hook into Tiitti's ribs. Harris blocks the body kick.
Harris stalks Tiitti and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Tiitti's face. Tiitti staggers backwards, shaken. Harris fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Harris connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Tiitti walks into a left hand. Tiitti shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Harris napping and manages to drive through into side control! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Harris gets back to half guard. Harris is trying to maintain the position but Tiitti is very close to passing his half guard. Tiitti trying to control the action but Harris is working from the bottom. Harris is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Tiitti is tapping! Great win for Harris!

9 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Leo Sonnen! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frederick is looking to land body kicks. Frederick throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Frederick dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Sonnen. That did some damage! Sonnen throws a hook to the side of Frederick's head but Frederick sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Sonnen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Frederick circles away. A jab from Sonnen misses. Sonnen ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Sonnen moves out of range of the body kick. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Sonnen has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Frederick goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Sonnen misses with an attempted mid kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Frederick thows a left - swing and a miss! Sonnen lands a jab to Frederick's midsection. Sonnen connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Frederick momentarily.
Frederick uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sonnen.
Sonnen throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. It looked like Frederick was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Sonnen.
That's one minute gone in the round. Frederick looks to land a combination but Sonnen avoids it well. Frederick looks to land a right hand but Sonnen moved out of range. Frederick scores with a hook to the body. Sonnen takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Frederick misses with a body kick. Sonnen uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Frederick. Sonnen throws a push kick but Frederick slaps the foot to one side. As Sonnen backs away, Frederick returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Frederick walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Frederick tries to land a front kick but Sonnen steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Sonnen misses with a double jab.

Frederick takes a swing at Sonnen's ribcage but misses. Sonnen misses with the body kick and Frederick counters with a nice uppercut. Cedrick Frederick is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Sonnen dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Frederick. That did some damage!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sonnen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Frederick. Sonnen doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Sonnen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A kick lands to the mid section there for Frederick. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Frederick looks for the body kick but Sonnen saw that one coming. Sonnen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Frederick scores with a hook to the body. Sonnen takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Sonnen looks winded! Frederick throws a combination that misses and Sonnen counters with a nice uppercut. Frederick throws a head kick that misses. Frederick throws a nice outside leg kick. Frederick pushes Sonnen away with a front kick. Frederick throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sonnen steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Frederick. That one must have hurt. Frederick fails to land with a series of punches.
Frederick scores with a kick to the midsection.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Frederick chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Frederick throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Sonnen on the wrong end of a nice jab. Frederick catches Sonnen with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Frederick.
Sonnen moves out of range as Frederick throws a body kick.
Frederick drops Sonnen with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Sonnen looks back up at him and smiles so Frederick waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Sonnen is rocked!
It looks like Leo Sonnen has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Sonnen tries to get into range but Frederick steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Sonnen! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Frederick scores the big KO victory!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson cracks BatzCastelmore with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Johnson has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning BatzCastelmore to stand back up!
It looks like Charles BatzCastelmore has been cut. Johnson dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! BatzCastelmore feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Johnsons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Johnson with a body punch. A glancing blow. Nice body punch from Johnson. Johnson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Johnson misses with a two punch combination.
It looked like BatzCastelmore wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Johnson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Johnson misses with a series of wild punches.
BatzCastelmore steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Johnson. Johnson has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by BatzCastelmore. BatzCastelmore throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

BatzCastelmore lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Johnson sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Johnson drives through with a takedown into BatzCastelmore's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Johnson is fighting to break BatzCastelmore's control of his arms but BatzCastelmore is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Johnson preventing the sweep. BatzCastelmore stuffs the takedown attempt from Johnson. Johnson gets slowly back to his feet. A combination from Johnson does no damage. Johnson closes the distance and clinches up with BatzCastelmore, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes BatzCastelmore against the cage but BatzCastelmore circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Charles BatzCastelmore has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy Johnson. BatzCastelmore lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Johnson on the wrong end of a nice hook. A head kick misses from BatzCastelmore. Johnson pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Johnson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Johnson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! BatzCastelmore avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Johnson. BatzCastelmore stuck in half guard on the bottom here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. BatzCastelmore sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Johnson working over BatzCastelmore with some ground and pound. BatzCastelmore looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Johnson not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson lands strikes from half guard. BatzCastelmore is holding on to half guard well. Johnson content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Johnson throws a strike but BatzCastelmore avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Johnson won't allow BatzCastelmore to sweep him here. BatzCastelmore has his hands on Johnson's head, controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. BatzCastelmore tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Johnson's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Johnson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as BatzCastelmore works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Johnson stops BatzCastelmore from standing up. BatzCastelmore is trying to control the position but Johnson postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Johnson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. BatzCastelmore is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. BatzCastelmore seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Johnson tries to bum rush BatzCastelmore with a series of wild strikes but BatzCastelmore uses good footwork to avoid the assault. BatzCastelmore thuds his shin into the meat of Johnson's side. A slapping leg kick lands for BatzCastelmore.
Johnson throws a hook but BatzCastelmore avoids it easily. Johnson misses the jab. Johnson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
BatzCastelmore jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. BatzCastelmore slips under a jab from Johnson. BatzCastelmore thumps Johnson with a low kick. BatzCastelmore avoids a lazy jab quite easily. BatzCastelmore feinted there with a counter leg kick. Johnson lands a nice shot to the body.
Johnson scores with a nice strike. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Johnson throws an overhand right that lands on BatzCastelmore's shoulder, as BatzCastelmore tries to avoid the shot. BatzCastelmore cracks Johnson with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. BatzCastelmore throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Johnson's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. BatzCastelmore connects with a nasty looking knee right to Johnson's face.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! BatzCastelmore lands a jab. BatzCastelmore throws a head kick that Johnson semi-blocks.

Thompson gets caught flat footed, as Potter shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. My spies in Gym of the Gods inform me that Potter has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Potter sitting in guard, not really doing much. Thompson can't keep his opponent in guard - Potter advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Potter is taking a breather. Thompson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Garcia showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Johnson.
It looked like Garcia was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Johnson. Johnson throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Garcia counters with a right hand to the body. Garcia throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Johnson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Johnson stuffs the takedown attempt from Garcia. Garcia gets slowly back to his feet.
