The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut lands for Gomi. That snapped Rivera's head back.

Gomi takes the fight into the clinch.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Gomi.
Rivera throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Rivera is trying to break the clinch but Gomi has him pressed against the cage.
Gomi's coach down at OO was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Gomi's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Still in the clinch, Gomi scores with a nice short uppercut.

Rivera is rocked!
Rivera is looking to break free of the clinch but Gomi has double underhooks.
Oh Rivera is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gomi has Rivera pressed against the cage.
Gomi digs a right hand into Rivera's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Rivera's gas tank.
Rivera seems to have got his legs back now.
Gomi gets through Rivera's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

It looks like Julio Rivera has been cut.

Gomi escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gomi closes the distance and lands a brutal uppercut that knocks Rivera out! We're looking at the replay now - he was out before he hit the floor!

Hostetter steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Wooten.
It looked like Hostetter wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Wooten drops Hostetter with a big left hand and mounts him. Hostetter is in big trouble!

It looks like Ivan Hostetter has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hostetter manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Wooten is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Hostetter manages to get to full guard.
Hostetter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
