The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenson Jr shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mep pinned against the cage. Mep gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mep was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Jenson Jr dives in for a single leg takedown but Mep sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mep is looking to regain half guard here but Jenson Jr keeps moving and retains side control.

Mep has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jenson Jr can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Jenson Jr is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mep is just riding it out for now. Jenson Jr eventually gives up the hold.

Mep is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Jenson Jr has latched onto it... Big trouble! Jenson Jr pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Mep is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Jenson Jr!
