The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stevens throws a right and a left that Smith avoids nicely. Smith jabs at Stevens's body. Smith connects with a good right hand that stumbles Stevens. Stevens circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Stevens misses with an uppercut
and Smith counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Stevens fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Smith manages to avoid it. Stevens looks to throw the jab but Smith is out of range. Smith staying out of range there. Stevens jabbing away but nothing is landing. Smith swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Smith digs a good body shot into Stevens's ribs. Stevens misses with a combination
and Smith cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Stevens rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Smith moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Smith works Stevens's body with a nice hook. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Smith lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
A decent looking cross lands there for Smith. Smith cracks Stevens with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Stevens looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Smith finish him?
Stevens is rocked! Stevens looks winded! Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Smith engages and cracks Stevens with a massive lead left hook - Stevens tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Smith is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jake Smith! A very excited looking Jake Smith rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva gets caught flat footed, as Linkletter shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Linkletter is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Linkletter landing some decent shots from guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Silva is looking to stand back up but Linkletter counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Silva. Silva wants to get back to his feet. Linkletter is taking a breather. Silva says something to him but it's hard to make out. Aint Easy connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Starnes shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Aint Easy but Aint Easy pushes him off and we're back to square one. Starnes throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A punch combination from Starnes misses. Starnes goes for a double leg but Aint Easy avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Aint Easy continues to drive forward. A looping hook to the body misses from Starnes. Aint Easy does a little dance to reset his feet. It seemed like Aint Easy was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
